Niall and Liam returned to the house looking rough.Liam's hair was sticking all over the place and Niall's cheeks were practically in flames with how red they were.They had spent the last hour making out on the dock while the sun set behind them.

"Good for you to join us, we thought we had to call the cops on our missing children."Liam's dad, Geoff, joked.

"Very fun dad."Liam playfully bantered,"We just lost track of time."He looked down at Niall who was profusely blushing.

Liam's dad noticed as well, raising an eyebrow as he shrugged around to continue frying the hot dogs.

"Um I'm going to call my parents outside and tell them I'm okay."Niall excused himself,going to try to find some type of signal outside.

"So is he your boyfriend?"Geoff said after he heard the front door close.

"I don't know,"Liam shrugged,"in a way I guess."

"He seems nice, you should ask him to go steady."

"Dad, were not in the fifties.We don't go steady anymore."Liam laughed.

"Whatever, I asked your mom"Liam's dad paused, shaking his head."Can you go get the buns from the car? I forgot to take them out."

Liam nodded absentmindedly, going to walk out.He stepped out to see Niall looking out at the lake, holding his phone to his ear as he spoke softly."Yeah, I'm doing good-yes we just got back from the lake-no I didn't get it-yes I brought my swimsuit-alright -yes mom I finished my homework-alright mom I'll see you in a couple of days-love you too."

Niall heard the floorboard creeks as Liam stepped closer to him."You did get service?"

"Yeah, only one bar."The blonde shrugged.Looking down at his lap.

Liam looked away, sighing."Niall, I know we kissed and all but I'm wondering what it means?"

"Look, im tired of having this conversation Liam.I don't know how many times we can do this."Niall looked up at him, his eyes staring into Liam's."Whatever you want it to mean, if you just want to leave it as that, as a kiss.Then we're done here.But Liam, I need to know what you want!"

"I want you, I want you so much that it hurts.It hurts knowing that you're the first person I've had feelings for.It hurts how much I try to stop these feelings.But if you're willing to give this another chance, if you're willing to give me another chance."

"If you're hurting, imagine me."He laughed,"I'm giving you one more chance don't fuck it up."

"Does-Does that mean I can kiss you?"Liam asked.

"Depending ."Niall mocked,"What will it mean?"He giggled, grabbing Liam's face and pressing their lips
together.Their lips playfully moved together, Niall moving onto Liam's lap.

They passionately kissed, not knowing the specific details that defined their situation.But in that moment, they understood they had feelings for each other and that was enough.

They heard the door fling open, Liam's dad screamed before closing it.A few seconds later, after Liam  and Niall quickly separated and got themselves together, they shared a awkward look as Liam's hand reached for the door before someone opened it from the other side.

"Um "Geoff said nervously,"I was trying to what was taking you so long with the buns but I guess I know now."

"Sorry yeah, I was just getting them."He said pulling out the keys from his pocket.

"No, it's fine.Ill get it, you guys just go inside it's getting really dark out here."

An hour and a half later of uncomfortably eating food with Liam's dad and his new girlfriend.Niall and Liam excused themselves for bed, they'd hadn't taken their stuff up.They looked at each other uncomfortably as they saw the room only came with a king sized bed.
