Molly's POV
The week passes slowly. I knew that staying home with Leah while Elliot got to leave every day, go to school and see our friends was going to be difficult but it was beginning to seem unbearable. I loved my daughter but I felt disconnected from everything except Paw Patrol which was the only show I could content Leah with.
I'm sitting on the couch while she lies on the floor in her activity gym giggling at her reflection in the mirror above her. I smile, glancing over at her. She was honestly the cutest baby I had ever seen and it never ceased to blow me away that I actually helped create her. Being with Jason may have been a mistake but Leah could never be considered as anything but a blessing in disguise.
My phone begins to ring beside me, gaining my attention. I turn and grab it off the cushion beside me and find Jason's name lighting up the screen. I take a deep breath before bringing the phone to my ear. "Hi Jase" I greet him, trying my best to remain civil with him. Since my conversation with Elliot I was more on edge than ever in regards to my relationship with Jason. I never wanted Elliot to question my feelings for him but I also couldn't deny that Jason is Leah's father and as such he'll always be a huge part of my life.
"Hey Moll" he replies brightly. "You sound upset. Everything alright?" he asks worriedly. I bring my bottom lip between my teeth. If only he were this observant when we were fucking around...perhaps it could've become something more.
"I'm fine Jase. What's going on?" I ask curiously. One thing I loved about Jason, he respected my relationship with Elliot and he never bothered me unless it had to do with Leah.
"My mom called last night and practically begged for me to drive up and see my family this weekend. Of course I can go by myself but I know that my parents would love to see their granddaughter. I know it's a lot to ask and I totally understand if you say no-."
"Jason stop" I cut him off. "Did you buy the car seat?" I ask curiously.
Silence falls over the line until finally he responds. "Y-yea I did" he replies slowly.
I smile. There really was no denying that Jason was a good father. He may have been horrible during my pregnancy but since Leah got here he had been incredible and if all he wanted was two days with our daughter so she could see her grandparents then I would be a total bitch to deny him.
"You can take her Jase" I concede. Another long silence falls over the line and I can tell that he's in shock that I've actually agreed to this.
"I-I can?" he stutters. My smile grows wider.
"Be here at two to pick her up" I reply before we say our goodbyes and hang up the phone. I look down at Leah and stand up, walking towards her. "You're gonna go spend the weekend with your daddy. Does that sound like fun?" I coo as I hoist her onto my hip, pushing back her stubborn curls. She giggles and I can't help but join in. "Let's go get you packed."

The doorbell rings fifteen minutes before two and I know it's Jason here to pick up Leah for their weekend. "Is that daddy?" I ask my daughter as I look across the room to where I have her lying on the floor while I busy myself with packing up bottles. I abandon my task and move towards the front door, pulling it open and coming face to face with my ex.
"Hey" I greet him, leaning against the doorframe. He was dressed casually in a pair of jeans and a red t-shirt but only a year ago this look would've made me grab him and pull him into my bedroom...which is coincidentally exactly how we ended up with Leah.
"You look cute" he compliments making me roll my eyes. I was most certainly not cute, dressed in yoga pants, a baggy t-shirt and my hair messed up on top of my head. It wasn't that I didn't care about my appearance but when you're a full-time mom you just really don't have the time...and it wasn't like I needed to dress up to try to seduce Elliot.
