Nervous didn't even begin to explain how I was feeling while we waited for Elliot's friends to show up. I was beginning to question why I even came up with this idea, it seemed so perfect then but now I couldn't understand why I thought it would be fun to put myself through this.

I'm pouring myself a glass of wine when my phone dings and I look down to find a text from Jason. A smile tugs at my lips as a picture of my daughter riding one of those mechanical rides in the mall is downloaded onto my screen.

MOLLY: Adorable. Give her a kiss for me and tell her I miss her xx

JASON: You know I will. Good luck tonight Molls oo

I smile as Elliot walks into the room wearing a simple pair of jeans and a graphic tee that had something to do with Stranger Things; he looked so calm and comfortable. I wish I could feel some of that but instead I was having a panic attack. "You look beautiful babe" he compliments as he walks over to me and I roll my eyes. Sometimes it was obvious that he was in love with me because otherwise there was no way he could describe my ensemble of jeans a red v-neck t-shirt as anything besides cute.

"Thanks" I reply, pecking his lips as he begins to pull snacks out of the cabinets and the fridge, placing them on the counter. My phone dings again and I notice as Elliot's eyes drag over to it.

"Everything alright with the kid?" Elliot asks worriedly, noting the sender of the text as Jason. I grab my phone and open the text.

JASON: Almost forgot...show them as many pictures of Leah as possible. It may make them uncomfortable enough to leave and you might get some alone time ;)

My eyes widen. "Nope. Nothing is wrong" I insist, pocketing my phone. That was enough out of my inappropriate ex for one night.

He laughs. "He say something about me?" he guesses but I shake my head.

"He just wants everything to go well tonight for me" I explain, grabbing a chip from the bowl he had put out. "Either that or he wants us to have alone time, but one or the other" I add. He looks up at me in shock but he doesn't have a chance to respond because the doorbell rings. "Shit" I murmur, wiping my hands on my jeans.

Elliot smiles, squeezing my hand reassuringly. "It's gonna be fine" he says soothingly. "You're way too worked up my love."

I release a deep breath as he goes over to the door and pulls it open. Luckily for me the first to arrive is Christian. I knew out of all of Elliot's friends he was the one who acted most like the rest of my friends...not that that was necessarily the best thing in the world. "Hey Molly" he greets me as Elliot shuts the door behind him. "How have you been?" he asks curiously and I shrug.

"Alright I suppose. What about you?" I ask conversationally. He chuckles, collapsing onto our couch.

"You don't have to be so proper with me sweetheart, we're kindred spirits you and I, working together to corrupt Elliot." My eyes widen as I look towards my fiance.

"I-I am not trying to corrupt-."

"Babe he's messing with you" Elliot smiles as he comes up to me and wraps his arms around my waist. "Aren't you Chris?"

He rolls his eyes as the doorbell rings again and my heart skips a beat. This time it had to be either Jacob or Troy and honestly I didn't know which one I favored. Elliot releases his grip on me and goes over to the door, pulling it open and smiling when his eyes land on Jacob and a gorgeous blonde. "Hey guys" he greets them. The two of them walk in and I'm immediately comforted by the gaze of the girl on Jacob's arm. She reminded me a lot of Avery, except for the blonde hair.
