"Out...of my way."

Nobody moved for what seems to be an eternity. The thick white smoke was surrounding everything, leaving ice on everything it touched. Aloy could've felt the cold through her boots and pants if she decided to focus on it.
But that wasn't possible.
She could only stare at the canon, black and full, pointed to her face.

She was too far to do something.
She was too close to do something.

Suddenly, she heard the sound of someone running towards them. Omega heard it as well and turned her face to see who was disturbing her.
Turned out it was Bast, who finally chose to act.
Aloy had a moment to notice his determined expression before he threw his whole body on Omega's, making her fall instantly as she was growling again because of her ankle.
But she had the time to shoot.

Not on Aloy.
Not on Kïma.
...
Bast ?

Aloy eventually breathed out, relieved, when she saw him using his knuckles to kick her in the face while he used his other hand to keep her weapon down.
He didn't seem hurt.

He was apparently doing fine so Aloy was able to crouch next to Kïma again.

"Will you look at that...", She whispered, staring at Bast.
"Give me my bow, I'll kill this bitch right here and now as I promised her."

"Don't stop putting pressure on your wound !", Aloy exclaimed, desperate.

She jumped forward and used her forearm to press against the deep cut. Kïma grimaced and hissed in pain, her jaw clenching strongly.
The huntress' vision got quite blurry and it took her a moment to understand it was tears.

"Aloy... I... I know it's not the time, but if I don't say it, I'll never... Be able to say it again..."

"Shut up, you won't die here !", Aloy screamed to her, looking up at her face.

It was extremely pale, with blood stains everywhere but she was still beautiful. More beautiful than ever.

"Just listen ! I promise something to Damarko and I have to say it... First of all... I'm sorry. For Avad and that evening... So sorry... I would give anything to go back there and not to do... that..."

Her pace was getting weaker and weaker, and Aloy's pressure on the wound was only growing stronger and stronger.
With a glance, she saw that Bast succeeded to throw the massive weapon away and was now hitting Omega in the neck.

"And... That thing with Damarko... I wanted to tell you that I... I mean... You..."

"Try to stay awake Kïma, okay ?", Answered the huntress, looking down at the injury.

She heard a long sigh and a hand raised her chin again. She could feel the blood on it but she didn't care.
Those eyes...

No, it was not the moment to unfocus.

... But it was probably the only thing she could've done when those lips crashed on hers.

It wasn't the moment to unfocus and there she was...
She could feel her cold lips shaking a bit against hers and wondered if she was afraid to die.

... What ? No, no, no.
There was no way she was going to die.

With a huge effort, she moved her face back and an idea appeared in her mind. She jumped on her feet and without any explanation and she ran toward Bast and Omega.

"Go back with Kïma !", He said, between two knocks.

"Nope, I need something !"

She crouched quickly and examinated Omega's belt. Kïma's knife was here, so was the purse.
She took the knife and cut the lace of the purse so she was able to take it. She was going to go back but Omega placed a bad punch on Bast's face, sending him to the ground.
And she stood up, like everything was fine.
