41- OUEEN OF BABYLON

The precision were now to head back to Babylon. They were pleased and sure that their prayers have been answered and their heart was filled with joy but Sasimoru was the less excited. She was disappointed that her wish to eliminate nephrite was not going as planned.

Now they would be heading back to the palace and she will still be with the king.

They were on the boundaries leading into Babylon by now Sasimoru has lost every hope of killing Nephrite. She was so angry she stopped her carriage.

"What's wrong Sasimoru?"Melanie ask with scorn in her voice, she knew their plan had not worked and was happy for the fact that at least she was a consort of 2nd rank while Sasimoru was nothing.

"Am unwell i want to rest"Sasimoru replied glaring at no one.

"But we have almost approached Babylon"argued Guinevere fanning herself.

Sasimoru ignored their comments and wander into the bush, she was not worried they would leave her.

Sulking she sat under a tree lost in thoughts. She was face a cliff and her heart was greatly troubled. Angry she threw the dagger in a tree opposite her.

Even if she was to stab Nephrite she would still survive, she needs to do something fast.

She saw a snake curling a branch above her, she threw the dagger at the snake and it fell down died.

She smile and lace the dagger blade with the poison, no one can survive a snake poison.

Nephrite wondered why Sasimoru was taking long, by now they would have been half way into Babylon. She noticed all the guards were still intact, no one followed Sasimoru. She stood up and went after Sasimoru.

"Sasimoru?"she ask as she found her kneeling before a snake.  Sasimoru quickly hid the dagger in her Saree.   "Are you okay?".

"Yes. The snake almost bit me but i somehow killed it"Sasimoru say in her best convincing voice.

Nephrite suspected a foul play, when did someone kill a snake without any weapon? "Okay then"she shrug.

"Am glad you are fine let's go now". She turned and started walking away.

Seeing this as her chance Sasimoru chased after nephrite and grabbed her neck. Nephrite turn around shapely and grab her hands.

Both women fell on the floor, Sasimoru tried to strangle nephrite who hit her stomach. Finally they were at the edge of the cliff, nephrite grab Sasimoru head and hit it several times on a free, she bit Sasimoru arm.

Sasimoru cried out in pain and stabbed nephrite in stomach.

Nephrite fell to the floor in pain, Sasimoru hovered above her laughing.

  "You thought i will watch you become queen? Over my dead body"she laughed wickedly.

"Why? I.....,.never........ ..wish yyyyooouuu eeeviiilll"Nephrite gasped spitting up blood.

"Do you know how it feels like to see the king favor only you?????? Are you the only one???? Who do you think you are???????"Sasimoru said dragging Nephrite legs. 

Then laughing like a menace she pushed Nephrite off the Cliff. Nephrite screamed her lungs out as she kepf falling until she fell into a flowing river.

Because of the injury she could not swim. After struggling she finally fainted.

Sasimoru glad of her achievement picked up the Saree that fell off nephrite as she fell. She hid it in her clothes and hurried back to the rest.

"You were taking up much time let's go"Melanie said tired of waiting.

Sasimoru enters her carriage and smile sweetly at Lupe who understood. They continued their journey unknown that Nephrite was not with them.......

Sigma and alias ran towards the cliff and shouted nephrite name. They saw Nephrite and Sasimoru fight and how Sasimoru stabbed her then threw her off the Cliff.

"Mistress!!!!!!! Nephrite!!!!!!!!!!"Alias shouted crying. They ran back where they came towards the river back.

   "Your grace!!!!!!!!"they called.

Alias broke down and cried, her mistress cannot die now. She can lose her... Sigma held her as she cried her eyes out blaming God for letting this happen.

Sigma too shocked felt tears rolling down her cheeks. Nephrite saved her head when she could have died, her mistress can't die not now not ever.

Her eyes caught a something on the bank far off and vultures crowded it in mass. "Alias look what do you think is that????"she ask.

Alias head shot up , she wiped her tears and ran towards the thing.  She gave a loud shout as she saw her mistress lay lifeless.

"Sigma!!!!!!!! Its her grace!!!!!!!"she shouted shooing away the vultures. She knelt beside her mistress fresh tears in her eyes now.

"She's breathing!"alias say as she touched the dried blood in her mistress mouth.

  "We must find help"sigma said and they pulled nephrite gently under a shade.

Alias held her hands crying and praying the gods save her.

As they thought of what to do a man appeared from no where.  "Let me help her"he said.

Sigma drew her swords. "One step to her would be your last!"she warned. 

"I can really help her please let me"he begged

"Ain't you the one who stole from her days ago?"sigma ask angry. 

"More reason why i must help her. Please"he begged.

"Sigma please before she dies"Alias beg.
Nephrite was slowly slipping away. If nothing is done she will die in minutes.

"Let me get my wagon and we'll take her to mg master"he said running into a bush. Sigma and alias looked at themselves unsure. Truly he returned with a wagon.  

"Can your master cure her?"Alias ask. 

  "Yes he can. But first let's get her there"he said and they help her Into it and hurried away.

Meanwhile back in Babylon, the entire kingdom received the welcome of the maidens. The street were filled with well wishes waving and hailing them. 

The news already heard of their return and preparation were made for them.

As their chariot trooped into the palace, all the royal household waited outside for them.

Sybil came down bearing a cleansing sacrifice for it. The maidens stepped down and bowed before them.

Sybil cleansed them and encouraged them happy. There were prayers going on as more dignitaries filled in to celebrate with them as the feast was at its highest peak Sybil looked around and wondered where the woman she prayed daily for her return was. She turned to the maiden and ask.

"Where is Nephrite?".
