Nebuchadnezzar smile and motion for the woman to approach him. Nephrite bow slightly. Nebuchadnezzar pull her into a tight embrace.
He inhaled the perfume that erupted from her and smile, he knew she must have prepared for tonight but he had something else in mind.
"Thank you for coming"he said releasing her.
"No my liege am to say thank you for summoning me"Nephrite says quickly.
Nebuchadnezzar smile, how modest. "I wanted to a long time ago but have been busy"he informs.
"I understand my liege the kingdom needs you"nephrite reply. "But you'll need me more when you become my wife"he said this time nephrite smile.
"So have you enjoyed the gifts i sent?"Nebuchadnezzar ask. He had books, beautiful saree's, jewelries sent to her as a token of love.
"Yes my liege, its very thoughtful of you"Nephrite said when in reality she never got any of it but no need of the king finding out now.
He laughs. "Very thoughtful? You are my first priority jadeite never forget that"he takes her hand they were cold. He rubbed it gently. "You are losing color let's go in"he say.
"No my liege am fine"Nephrite argued.
Nebuchadnezzar smile and pull her close, "you are very beautiful jadeite"he whispers. "I like you".
"Like?"she chuckles.
"Yes; i know we are getting to know each other but i like you a lot love is something we aspire to and it may be a future aspect for you but it seems more like the present myself"he says gently.
"Is that so?"she looks to him kindly "my lord........"
"No need for explanation jadeite, we are to be husband and wife. Think me not as a king but your husband. Come to me when you are in trouble or worries and i promise to listen. I want to share all your burdens, joy, happiness, pains with you as you will share mine"he promised solely.
Nephrite couldn't help but blush she look up at him and he lifted her chin and directly went for her lips. He kiss her. His soft touch captivated her and she can't help but want more.
"Your first time?"he ask her in the ear sending sparks all over her. Nephrite blush and look down. Nebuchadnezzar laugh then kiss her again, nephrite wrap her hand around him clumsily returning his kiss. She became completely infatuated.
Nebuchadnezzar kisses were intermittent but gentle,inching slowly down her body eventually back to her lips where he stopped. He took her hand and they look at each other, and she knew he loves her and meant every word he said.
She knew deep down she was reciprocating and making an effort to her own feelings. Who would've thought the most powerful man and king in the world would fall in love to his knees to a median girl.
The king led nephrite to his bedroom and she was in surprise,

"i usually have the candles laid out when i find it hard to sleep"he told her. "Are you having troubles sleeping?"she ask as he sat on the bed. Nebuchadnezzar nods. "Do me the honor of playing"he motion to the harp on one said.
Nephrite sat at it and played a lullaby for the king, actually a healing incantation her mother thought her. Nebuchadnezzar lay back and admired her, she reminds him of his mother who usually played harp or sang for him when he had nightmares.
After she finished he pat the spot beside him. Nephrite got in and lay beside the king. "I keep liking you by every passing minutes"he told her.
"As i my liege"nephrite says hiding her red face as he stroke her cheeks. Nebuchadnezzar lay on nephrite chest and close his eyes, he has not felt inner peace for a very long time now.
He smile as she wrap her hand around him the way his mother would. Right now nothing mattered more to him than how he felt. The feeling of being loved.........

The next day it had already gone round the palace that the king summoned Nephrite to grace his chambers. Everyone gossiped about it. The palace were surprise as the king rarely has time for anything aside the kingdom affairs.
Nephrite sat on her bed as some maids brought her water to wash her face. She dip her hand in the water. "Such strong perfume"she comments. The maids smirk at themselves.
Nephrite look up at them and smile. "Come nearer"she orders.
They shifted near, she lifted the bowl and drench the water on them. They screamed out in pain as it burn their face leaving scares. Nephrite smirk they think they can smear her face? No way!
Next breakfast was brought by another group of maid. Nephrite tasted it and flinch a little, shrimp and mandrake known to cause stomach upset.
She look at the maids who all had a grin on. She huff "i know how hard it is for you all to prepare dish and not be able to eat it"she pick up the dish and hand it. "Take it!,"she commands.
"No your grace......."
"I said take it or do you want me to tell the king you tried to poison me?"she asked pissed.
"No! Please!"they begged as one girl take it and eat feeding the rest in the process. Melanie has gone too far this time and she would pay her back.
"Your grace the maids can't take it anymore! Lady nephrite has seen through them"Lupe announce.
Melanie hit her table in fury. She will deal with Nephrite herself. She pick up her pallu and walked out in fury. She saw Nephrite afar off and hurried to her.
"You've lost color "Nephrite says with a smirk.
I see you bought your way to the king's bed"Melanie jeers.
Nephrite laugh. "At least its something worth it!"she retort.
"You feel its funny? Wait till when it wears out"Melanie say again hatred increasing.
Nephrite shifts nearer to her and whispered. "Be warned Melanie of Greece. Those who tried to kill me don't usually end well"she reminds.
"What do you mean?"Melanie ask.
"Go to the ants and learn from them"nephrite answers and walk away her retinue with her. Melanie scoffs in rage, is that old fox trying to threaten her? She refused to be relent, she must bring nephrite down.
