I know everyone loves tree Bros but like... Kleinsen
Warning: How'd you break your arm? How'd you break your arm, Evan?
Evan closed his eyes, listening to the trees sway around him. He listened to the birds chirp happy little songs and he smiled.
Soon. It'll all be over soon.
Slowly, Evan let go of the tree.
"Whatcha doing there, Hansen?"
Evan quickly grabbed onto the tree in shock. What was Jared doing here? "Go away, Jared."
Jared was pretty far down, but Evan could still see him sigh. "Evan, Buddy? Come down. We need to talk."
Evan rolled his eyes, his pent up anger finally bursting. "No! Why do you care, huh? You're only friends with me for car insurance! Just, go be friends with someone else! You have plenty of friends, so sorry if you lose one more."
"Well, uh, if you're not around, you know, how am I gonna get my car insurance money?" Jared laughed, trying to lighten the mood.
"I don't know Jared, pick someone else."
"That's it. Get down, Evan." Jared said in a surprisingly forceful tone.
"No."
"Fine. Then I'm coming up. Force the fat guy to come up will you? If I fall, you're paying for my medical bills." Evan hesitantly started to climb back down, not letting it show that he was scared of Jared getting hurt. "See? That wasn't so bad, my little handsoap."
Evan awkwardly stood by the tree, wanting the ground to swallow him whole. He rubbed his arm, looking anywhere that wasn't Jared's accusing face. "You're not... fat, you know."
"Sure, Whatever makes you sleep at night, Handsoap." Jared said, pulling Evan into a bear hug. "But you're sleeping at my house tonight. Incase you're wondering."
Jared pulled away and started to walk back to his car. He took a few steps and then waited for Evan to follow. "Ev? Come on, buddy. As much as I would love to carry you to the car and pamper you, I'm weak and poor, so you're just gonna have to walk."
"Why are you doing this?" Evan asked. "Why? All you've ever done is be mean to me and shoot down my thoughts and make fun of me. You'd... everyone would be better off withou-"
"Don't even fucking finish that sentence." Jared growled. "Get in the car, Evan. Come on."
Jared pulled Evan to his car, making sure he was inside and buckled before he got in. He turned on his car, and started to pull out of the parking lot. "I'm not friends with you for car money, dipshit. I like you." Jared's words flowed as he felt the tension release. He always felt calmer when driving.
"What?"
"I like you. As a person, Evan. I know that's so difficult to understand, but it's true. I don't have other friends, or girl friends because no one actually puts up with me. I push people away so they don't push me away first. But you're the first... you're the first person to not push me away. So Hansen if you fucking even thought-" Jared stopped, chuckling darkly. "Well, I guess we're too late for that, huh?"
Jared pulled into his driveway, turning the car off. The car was silent, but his brain wasn't. He shifted in his seat to stare directly into Evans eyes. He could tell that a dam was about to break, so he did something he'd never thought he'd have the guts to do.
He leaned in closer, hesitantly hovering over Evans lips. "Can I kiss you?" Jared asked quietly. Evan nodded, a hiccup coming out of him as he tried desperately to choke back his tears. Jared gently kissed Evan, wiping the tears away before slowing pulling back.
"Now, if you ever pull a stunt like that again, you're grounded, mister."
Evan coughed out a laugh, giving Jared a look. "Daddy?"
"Do I look like-"
