"So... it was just a date? A one time date with you?"
"Yep. Just one date."
"And... now she's dating Jake? Like, for real?"
"Yes."
"So... that didn't go as planned?"
"Nope!" Jeremy flopped onto Michaels bed, sighing loudly. "But I see where she's coming from. I mean, let's be real, I did kinda, you know, almost destroy all of human civilization. And, understandably, Jake is fucking hot."
"Yeah he is." Michael paused, only now realizing what he just said. "Wait, what? You think Jake is hot?"
"Uh, Yeah?" Jeremy paused, studying Michael. "Why, do you not? Because like, come on. He's hot as shit. I mean, you've seen him running shirtless around the school for cross country before too." Jeremy scoffed. "Everyone has."
"No, it's just, uh. You know. He's a... guy."
"...Right?"
"You just said that Jake, a guy, is hot."
"Uh, yeah, because he is. And he's really nice, so I mean, I guess I'm not mad that they are dating each other. Honestly, if Christine were to end up with anyone, I'd want it to be Jake."
"You just said Jake was hot. But you like Christine?"
"Oh my god, Michael, seriously?" Jeremy rolled his eyes, moving away so his flustered expression wasn't as noticeable. "I'm bi, remember?"
"You never told me that!"
"Yes I did! Three years ago!"
"When?"
"When we got stoned in your basement! I told you!"
Michael squinted his eyes. "Why do you think I would remember that? I was high and it was three years ago."
"Well, it's not important."
"Dude, I could have made so many jokes. You made me miss so many opportunities."
Jeremy sighed, ruffling his hair. "Look man, it's not like, that important or whatever."
Michael sat quietly for a moment, and Jeremy thought Michael would drop it. "So, Like, you've just, not talked about guys for like, 17 years? How?"
"Well, I mean, I'm more into girls than guys, I guess?" Jeremy said awkwardly. "Look, there's only been a few guys that I've kinda been into, so like, it's fine."
"Who made you realize you were bi?"
"You..." Jeremy trailed off, instantly realizing his mistake. "You, uh, when you sent me that gay porn link?" Jeremy awkwardly chuckled. "It uh, turned me on, so."
"Oh my god. I made you realize you were bi!"
"No!" Jeremy said forcefully.
"Wait, other question. Do you still like me?"
"No."
Michael could see Jeremy tug on the bottom of his sweater; a sign he was lying.
"Huh. Shame. I've liked you for a long time."
"Michael, stop being such a dick." At Jeremy's forced words, Michael bit his tongue. "Just drop it, Okay?"
"Look man, I'm sorry." Michael paused, putting his hands in his pockets. "But honestly? I'm not lying about liking you or whatever. But it's chill if you're still into Christine."
Jeremy slowly glanced into Michaels eyes, and he was unable to contain his smile. "Oh. Well... okay."
"Okay?"
"Okay."
"Okay. Okay, now seriously, let's get that expansion pack we've been needing for Minecraft."
"Michael, you're such a dweeb."
"But I'm your dweeb."
"Yeah," Jeremy paused, smiling contently. "I guess you are."
