Evan was sitting on Jared's lap, with Jared's arms wrapped right around him while they watched the movie.
Evan sighed as the lead male in the movie showed the girl the candle lit dinner he'd made for her. "Isn't that sweet?"
"What, the heterosexual relationship, or the dinner?"
"The dinner, Jared." Evan said, playfully rolling his eyes. "It's sweet! And she clearly likes it!"
"She only likes it 'cuz she knows she's gonna get the D after."
"Jared, I'm just trying to have a nice, and pleasant conversation with you." Evan managed to be heard over Jared's laughter. "I don't want to talk about dicks!"
"Hey, I'm not the one who said the actual word." Jared automatically sassed, but his mind was elsewhere.
Did Evan want a romantic dinner? He deserved one. It's settled. I'm gonna make Evan a romantic dinner, and it's going to be absolutely amazing.

"I'm going to kill myself!" Jared sang loudly as he rushed around his house, looking for candles. "I'm going to kill myself over candles!"
He didn't hear Evan open and shut Jared's front door softly. He watched as Jared loudly sang to himself and frantically ran around the house, apparently looking for candles.
"Yes! Fuck yeah! Guess who's got those birthday candles, fool!" Jared yelled loudly to himself, putting them on the table. "And tea lights! Nice."
"Those uh, they don't have, they don't have batteries." Jared practically jumped out of his skin when he heard Evan, but quickly got over it. "Wait, how do you know that?"
"Because I know your house better than you do. Also, uh, what's, what's this?" Evan asked, motioning to the table filled with Evans favorite snacks.
"Oh uh, yeah, so uh." Jared flushed, looking at his feet to avoid eye contact. "Uh, so, you said you liked that romantic dinner thing, so I tried really hard but I don't know how to make that one dish you really like so I just got snacks you seem to enjoy, and uh, obviously there weren't any candles in the house, but uh, you know." Jared held up the birthday candles, giving his boyfriend a weak smile. "Happy birthday?"
Evan couldn't contain his laughter. Jared flushed again, but this time was about how wonderful Evans laugh sounded. "This is, this is, this is the nicest thing anyone's done for me." Evan said, wiping a tear away from his cheek. "And I, I absolutely love the Jared flare to it. Thank, thank you so much, sweetheart."
Jared stood up taller, giving Evan a cocky grin. "Anything for you, Mark."
"Jared, call me that one more time."
