"Hey, Sky, how do these work?"

As Sky turned around, she saw Mason entering her room with a tie in hand, looking at it with a puzzled expression. "They seem overly complicated."

"Knowing you, you're probably just over-complicating it, as usual," Sky responded, and with her words, Mason looked up at her, momentarily speechless as he witnessed her wearing a formal dress; not only that, but the colour of her dress complimented her hair colour perfectly.

When Mason didn't respond, she made her way over to him and took the tie from his hands. "Here, let me do it. Watch so you can do it next time."

"Sure," Mason responded after finally finding his voice. "I'm quite surprised you're going," Mason said then as he watched her fingers work on the tie.

"Yes, well, someone has to keep an eye on you," Sky replied, focusing on getting the tie exactly right and moving her head slightly closer to him in the process. "I assumed you probably haven't been to an event like this before, and seeing as you can't even work with a tie, I'm going to assume that my assumption was correct."

"Yeah..." was all that Mason said in response, a bit too aware of Sky's proximity to him, though she didn't seem to notice.

"There, all done," Sky said finally as she straightened up. "Think you'll be able to do it next time?"

"At least I'll have a starting point," Mason mumbled as he pulled on the tie. "Thank you."

Sky nodded. "Head down then when you're ready. We're leaving soon." Mason just nodded before he left the room.

Needing just his phone, he went and retrieved it from his room, stopping momentarily to admire Sky's handiwork in the mirror, before leaving his room again and closing the door behind him.

He heard Sky was still in her room so he made his way down already and reached the front door, where he encountered Lisette. "Hey," he greeted her.

"Hey, Mason," she greeted in return as he pulled the door open further for her to allow her entry with a plant pot in her arms.

"Uh... Why are you carrying around a plant?" he asked her, following her as she carried the plant to another room.

"Because the lady of the house likes the plants outside during the summer and inside during the winter, and it's getting cold enough now to bring them in," she responded, trying to navigate her path through the tall plant she was carrying.

"Do you need any help? Shall I carry it?" he asked as they approached a doorway which she proceeded to walk through, and on the other side of which were a large number of other plants.

"Nice of you to offer, but we can't get your clothes dirty," she responded, finding a spot to place the plant she'd been carrying.

"Ah," he remembered then that he was wearing a suit fit for a prince. "Right. To be honest, even with Sky there I think it's going to be weird. I kind of wish you were coming."

Lisette laughed as she dusted off her hands and straightened herself again. "You'll be fine. Just follow Sky's lead."

They heard someone clear their throat then, and looked towards the door at the same time to find Sky standing there watching them. "Ready?" she asked Mason.

Mason nodded. "Yeah." As he made his way towards Sky he looked at Lisette and directed his next words at her. "Make sure you get the help of someone if a plant is too heavy."

"Of course, sir," Lisette mock-saluted as he left and he couldn't help but roll his eyes at her.

For the first time in a while, Sky went way ahead of him and didn't slow down to match his pace, so he had to jog to catch up with her.
