"Miss Sky!" a female voice shouted with an air of finality.
Sky groaned and rolled over in her bed, pulling the blanket further over her head.
"Miss Sky, I really must insist! You can't just not turn up to your graduation ceremony!" Lisette said, walking over and attempting to pull the blanket off her.
Sky refused to let Lisette have the blanket and pulled back against her force. "I really don't care," she muttered, also refusing to let Lisette wake her from her slumber.
Lisette sighed as she dropped the blanket. "And here I am, having promised Mason I'd try my best to get you to go," Lisette said sadly, turning away from Sky. "He'll be so disappointed when I text him the news."
Sky immediately shot up, throwing the blanket from her body and swinging her legs over the side of the bed. "I'm up, I'm up," Sky said, still muttering as she wiped the sleep from her eyes. "You don't need to text him anything."
Lisette kept a straight face but her eyes glinted mischievously. "Not even that you're going?"
Sky yawned. "Especially not that."
"Of course," Lisette said. But I'm going to anyway. "Would you like any help getting ready? You're already running late; Mason's already left."
"I'll be fine," she said, already getting up. "But thank you anyway, Lisette."
Lisette smiled not only because she understood the order then, but also because Sky seemed to thank her without really having to think about doing so. "You're welcome," she responded, which is when Sky seemed to realise what she had just said to Lisette. "Shall I call for the car?"
Sky nodded, already digging through her wardrobe. "Might be a good idea. I shouldn't be too long."
Lisette nodded. "I'll let the driver know to wait outside the front door." When Sky just nodded in response, Lisette smiled one last time and then closed the door behind her as she left Sky's room.
Sky sighed as she dug through her things. What should she wear? She shot a look out the window, the curtains of which Lisette had already parted and noticed the weather seemed surprisingly nice for England even in June. She looked at one of her hanging dresses. Should she wear a dress?
Sky nodded to herself: she would wear a dress.
Without much further thought, she picked out the black summer dress. She took a moment to admire how black could fit well even with her fiery hair and smiled to herself.
Then she remembered she was running late.
She rushed to grab all of her things and packed them into a small bag before she raced out of her room, not forgetting to close her door behind her, bolted down the stairs and appeared in front of her main door. To her relief, the driver was already there so she hurried down the stairs.
"Just hurry and get in so we can get going," Sky said, opening her own door before the chauffeur had a chance to. She surprised the chauffeur because even when she'd been in a hurry in the past, he'd still always had to open the door for her.
"Come on," she snapped, less patient this time as the chauffeur momentarily stood frozen in surprise. The chauffeur didn't say anything, instead he just gave a small bow and hurried to the driver's side as he heard Sky shut her door behind her.
The drive was silent, with Sky focusing on her bag, constantly digging through it to make sure she hadn't forgotten anything.
It was only when they were a couple of minutes' drive from the school grounds that Sky was content she had everything she needed and laid her bag on the seat beside her. She looked out through the car window and what she saw made her stomach drop.
