"I still can't believe I agreed to this," Sky muttered as she walked sulkily next to Mason.

"Come on, don't be such a downer. The night is still young and you'll have Lily with you."

She shot him a half-hearted glare. "That's if she has the time to come with us. Or even wants to come with us. Why didn't you tell me about this beforehand?"

Mason shrugged his shoulders. "I wanted it to be a surprise. Are you going to beat me up because I wanted to surprise you?"

Sky pursed her lips. "Don't tempt me."

Mason chuckled and was quiet for a moment. "Where does Lily live then? How much longer until we're there?" Mason checked his phone for the time then, not wanting Rhys to wait too long at the bowling alley by himself.

"It's just up ahead. That house there with the red car, look." Mason's gaze followed her outstretched hand to see where she was pointing and spotted a house that was identical to every other house on this street except for the petite red car on the driveway. They were only a couple of houses away from it now.

"Shall I come with you to the door or wait at the bottom of the drive?" he asked uncertainly.

Sky shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly. "Your choice. I'll leave that up to you."

Mason frowned. "But you're the one who knows the parents."

Sky sent Mason a sarcastic look as they started walking up the drive. "Do you really think that parents care if a guy just walks up to the door without coming in? Especially if they're already walking up to it with someone else at their side?"

As they reached the front of the house, Sky lifted a single hand and rang the doorbell. "Well you never know," Mason said defensively, causing Sky to let out a little sigh.

She turned to face him before dumping her hands on his shoulders, causing his body to jump a bit from the force as he looked up at her. "I understand that you're not very good at picking up girls but trust me when I say that as long as a guy isn't alone in a room with a girl, the parents usually don't care."

Mason almost puffed up his cheeks in annoyance at the tone of voice she was using with him. "I'm not a child."

"But as innocent as one, perhaps," she said as she removed her hands from his shoulders and turned to face the door. "You can still walk back down the driveway before someone opens up the door."

Mason glared at her. Sky really was so infuriating sometimes. "You need to stop pretending like you're so much more experienced in the sleeping with people dep—"

He was interrupted at the sound of the door opening, and a bright looking Lily stood there beaming at them. "Are we talking about sex?"

Mason gawked at her as Sky used her hands to tell her to quieten down. "Not so loud Lily," Sky said. "We don't want your parents to overhear."

"Why not?" she asked, looking at them questioningly before gasping. "Don't tell me you two—"

"No!" they both almost shouted simultaneously.

They shared a quick glance before they turned back to look at Lily, who looked even more confused as she realised the situation. "Then why are you here?"

"Mason invited me to go bowling to celebrate our good exam results and so I wanted to invite you along," Sky answered; Lily nodded.

Lily was silent for a moment. "Mason, come with me for a second," Lily said, indicating with her hands that she should follow him inside.
