As Sky emptied her bag and was ready to prepare it for the next day, she pulled out an accursed test that she'd received from one of her teachers earlier that day.

"I forgot about you," she mumbled angrily, staring at the big, scribbled 37 at the top of the paper. She looked at it for a few more seconds before scrunching it up in her hands and throwing it towards the bin, where it hit the rim and instead just flopped onto the floor. Sky sighed.

Why did she feel so agitated?

Sky opened Mason's door with force, sending the door flying inwards and therefore causing Mason to jump up and out of his bed in surprise, leaving the book he'd been reading open on the covers.

"Mason, I need you," she said, hand still firmly on the door.

Mason blinked in confusion as he looked at her, still processing what had just happened. "I—You—You what?"

Sky rolled her eyes as she walked over to him. "Not like that. You said I should come to you whenever I need to wind down, so here I am rather than going outside. Will you let me beat you up or what?" she asked as she stopped in front of him.

"Woah, woah!" Mason said, holding up his hands as he retreated a few steps. "Is violence really your only way to solve your problems? What happened?"

"Ask my teacher," she said sourly, folding her arms. "I thought I did well on that test but she only gave me a measly 37."

"I didn't take you as the type to get wound up about grades and marks," Mason mused quietly, looking at Sky with renewed interest.

Sky furrowed her eyes upon hearing his words. "Huh. You're right. This has never happened before." She paused for a moment before her eyes fell accusingly on Mason. "You're actually the only reason I'd care about my grades. You're the last person I should be coming to."

Without another word, Sky began to turn in order to leave, but Mason quickly grabbed onto one of her unfolding arms, preventing her from leaving. "Wait! I still want to help."

Sky turned to look at him. "And what is your amazing cure-all?"

"Well, I was thinking, first we could go through your test and see where you went wrong—" He could see that was a bad idea as her expression turned even more sour. "Or—Or we could just do some general practice questions," he compromised instead. "And then we could watch a movie."

Mason could tell Sky was thinking about it. "What movie?"

"Um..." He couldn't remember the last time he watched a movie. "Fantastic Five?"

Sky frowned. "Make it Pirates of the Mediterranean and we have a deal."

Mason smiled in victory. "Great."

"Yeah," Sky said before she looked down at the hand that was still holding onto her. "You can let go of me now."

"Oh," Mason said, quickly retracting his hand. "Right."

"When shall we start?" Sky asked as she smoothed down the part of her jumper that Mason had just scrunched up as he'd grabbed her.

"Well... The sooner the better, right? Was it maths?" Sky nodded. "Let me just get my stuff together and we can work together on the table in the hallway."

Funnily enough, they exited their rooms with their papers at exactly the same time, so together they made their way over to the table and laid out their papers.

Mason spoke as they sat down. "So what do you want to do? Want me to point out some questions for you to do?"

As Sky nodded, Mason spent ten minutes picking out a series of questions while Sky played around on her phone, but soon enough she was ready to work.
