"You ready?"

Sky jumped when she heard Mason's voice, having not expected it as she kept her gaze focused on Rhys who was just leaving the classroom.

"Ready? For what?" Sky asked as she hurriedly finishing packing up her things.

"For our lesson with Dean. I thought we were walking there together?" Mason was perplexed at Sky's odd behaviour lately, which seemed to be getting weirder as more time went by.

"Oh, yeah, that," Sky said as she slung her bag over her shoulder. "I'll meet you there. I just remembered I have to do something quickly first. You can get there by yourself?" That was actually a lie; she just remembered they had the lesson and she actually had to meet up with Rhys first. She hurried off in an attempt to stave off any more questions.

"Sure, I can—" Mason started.

"Great, see you later!"

Mason was just as confused as the rest of the class at Sky's sudden and apparent upbeat departure; however, he couldn't shoot himself a confused look like the rest of the class was doing in that moment. He just shrugged his shoulders helplessly as he exited the classroom and made his way towards Dean's part of town alone, barely catching Sky's feet rounding the far corner of the hallway.

Sky luckily knew which direction Rhys left school, so she already knew which direction to head in when she couldn't see him once she exited the classroom.

As she rounded the first corner, she slowed to a walk for she could see him ahead of her with his earphones already playing music into his ears as he walked past the rest of the student body in without paying them any attention.

Sky followed in the same kind of silence, though she had no music to entertain herself with. She reflected back on the days where she would never have left the house with her music. Now her form of entertainment on her walks was Mason's voice and his sole presence beside her. Shaking her head, she couldn't believe she didn't even have one earphone in on the way anymore. Music used to be such a requirement in her life.

Was Mason's voice her form of music now?

She scowled at the horrifyingly sappy line. No way.

Rhys left the corridor in that moment and headed down a stairwell towards the ground floor and Sky followed along, trying to be as inconspicuous as possible. But that wasn't the easiest thing to achieve when her head poked out from the general populace; Sky internally grimaced at the obvious stares she was receiving.

Luckily, Rhys didn't notice.

She leisurely strolled along behind him as he headed away from the school campus, the student population thinning the longer they walked. Rhys rounded a corner then and Sky slowly followed along behind him. But what she hadn't expected was that Rhys had stopped and had been waiting for her.

"Sky?" Rhys's voice was calm, but she noticed the uncertainty in his expression. "What do you want?"

Although Sky took a moment to respond since she hadn't expected to be caught, she didn't hesitate for a second as she pulled the crumbled note out from her pocket and opened it up for Rhys to see. "This was you, wasn't it?"

Rhys was now sporting a poker face, but his body language revealed how uncomfortable he was with the whole situation. "Why would you think that?"

"Don't bother trying to lie to me," Sky said, narrowing her eyes at him accusingly. "You made an attempt at hiding it but I can still tell it's your handwriting. I just can't believe you'd drag Mason into this. You're his friend."
