I shift my gaze from myself to the reflection of the obnoxious guy on the mirror.
"Get lost, Van," I say and resume what I've been doing before the idiot got in here. "And I am not trying. Why should I? I'm already beyond pretty."
"Ha," he mocks, "and yet I'm not even attracted to you."
"Uhh, news flash. It's because I don't attract idiots who keep on picking a fight with my beauty."
"Well, if you say so." He sounds like he's given up. Haha. Victory is mine once again people! "Nag-aalala lang ako."
I frown. "At bakit ka naman kunwaring nag-aalala?"
"Hmm, let's see," he says before scanning me from head to toe. "Because you're weak? You're only a pretty face with no useful skill? And maybe because your eye ability wouldn't do much help in this fight, don't you think?"
The idiot actually made sense. But still!
"Shut up."
"Come on, Lucienne," he says. "Face it. 'Yang eye ability mo ay hindi kagaya ng kay Cenon para manalo ka. Hindi mo kasing talino si Zairus para makaisip ng diskarte. And then there's Kaven, his ability is obviously better than yours but he still lost." He looks at me like he's almost concerned. Almost. "You nervous now?"
I fail to hide my anxiety and it made him smile. The kind of smile he always does when he wins an argument.
"Dear Lucienne," he teasingly says, "victory is mine."
This guy! He's seriously pissing me off. I'll show him!
