Abby's POV

Having a dislocated shoulder? Hell... the not being able to rescue part? OH, that's damn torture. That's why I'm climbing the ladder to the tower, because there's not way in this life I'll be missing work... even if it's in the tower and not the sand. 

"Abby?" Hutz looks up from the binos at me. "What's up? Thought you'd take a day off at least!"

"You don't know her at all, mate." Deano chuckles. "Welcome back to heaven." He slaps my back and walks out.

Jake and Gonzo laugh and smile up at me. 

"At least we have another set of eyes." Jake says.

"You know me, I hate lying back and relaxing." I wink and sit next to Hutz. 

"We all seem to know you, Abs." Gonzo chuckles. 

"Especially that one." Hutz nods at the middle of the flags where Maxi and Kerrbox are stationed. 

I shake my head at them. "When will it turn old..?" 

"When two co-workers are dating, it doesn't ever get old!" Hutz laughs loudly and Gonzo agrees. 

"How's the shoulder?" Jake asks.

"Oh, getting there. One day and not being out there able to rescue is messing me up, man.." I sigh. 

"At least you're alright." 

"Yeah, thanks."

"Alright guys, it's officially the best day of the year, look at these conditions." Hutz gives me the laptop.

I look it over and give it to Jack and Gonzo to look at, while I pick up my binos and scan the shoreline. I take a look out at the north end of bondi while the three others scan other spots of the beach, we're usually splitting up the beach just as the ones out on the sand are split up.

"You'd think these guys hadn't read signs." I shake my head and pick up my radio. "Tower to Kerrbox, there's someone out there struggling, just in front of you." 

"Copy, I'm going in for the paddle." He says. 

"And.. he's in." I say, watching him go. 

He comes back from the rescue with the patient and I smile with satisfaction that the person's out fine.

"Kerrbox back on radio." He says over the line.

"Great job." I say back. 

Gonzo has spotted another person that is in need of rescuing and sends in Maxi, I smile as he runs with the board to the water. Seeing him rescue them perfectly is enough for me, he turns toward the tower and shows us a thumbs up. 

Gonzo chuckles. "He's so whipped." 

I slap his arm. "EY!"

"Oh yeah, you're whipped too." He shrugs. 

I laugh and shake my head. "You're a nightmare, Gonzo." 

"Always will be, mate, nightmare on the waves."

Hutz chuckles toward the both of us and leans back. "Do you want to know what he really thinks?" He asks me. 

"If it'll be sweet.." I shrug. 

"He'd marry you in a heartbeat, that's how much he loves you. I mean I don't get how quickly that happened, but it's real."

"Really..?" 

"Oh yeah, you've got it lucky." 

Oh boy do I.

Maxi's POV

Finishing off my 4th rescue for the afternoon I go toward the tower to exchange with Hutz, I walk in only to see my gorgeous girlfriend with binos. I go over and surprise her by wrapping my arms around her without hurting her arm of course. 

"Hello, beautiful." I say.

"Hey.." She turns around and smiles at me. "What's up?" 

"Just exchanging with Hutz here." I turn to him. "You're good to go, mate."

"Cheers, see you later." He waves and jogs off. 

I sit down next to her and put my arm around her shoulder, picking up the binos from the desk that Hutz abandoned. "You're alright with the shoulder and all? It doesn't hurt?" 

She giggles and shakes her head. "It's okay, there's only 1 out of 10 pain.. don't worry." 

I lean down and kiss her head. "I will always worry." 

"Well you don't have to." She gives me a quick kiss.

"Oh this is just sad." Jake shakes his head. "Get a room!"
