Abby's POV

"Are you sure you're fine with that arm?" Maxi asks again.

"Maxi, I'm fine, really."  

He shakes his head at me and we continue walking on the cliff next to the beach. We're on our lunch break and Maxi wanted to do his own mini adventure, I don't think I could've stopped him even if I tried. 

"Come here." He helps me up onto a steep part of the cliff and I pull myself up with his arm, I'm not to going to tell him, but definitely 5 out of 10 pain now... Maybe climbing cliffs wasn't what the doctor ordered. 

"Now look at this!" He chuckles and wraps him arms around me from behind, I lean back on his chest and look at the view. It's beautiful, the ocean spreads outwards.. you can't explain this much beauty. 

"I love it up here." I say. 

Maxi leans forward and kisses the nick of my neck softly. "And I love you, Abby." 

I turn around in his arms and look up at him, surprised. "You love me?" 

"Yeah, I do." He grins. 

I go on my tiptoes and kiss him, telling him the same thing, 'I love you'. He tightens his hold on my waist and kisses me back equally. The thing about this kiss is it's filled with love and passion, where the others were a simple 'I care about you' kisses. 

"We should get back before they get annoyed for the long break." I say after the long kiss. 

"Well there goes the fun." 

I laugh and pull on his hand, we step down carefully and after 15 minutes or actually 20 minutes we're back on the beach, I let him take my hand and hold onto it while we walk back to the tower. Hutz is walking out of it and winks at us before riding off in the rhino. 

"Hey you two." Whippet waves. 

"I'm going to go back to work." Maxi leans down and kisses me quickly.

"Maxi?" I grin.

"Yeah?" He hops down onto the sand and looks up at me. 

"I love you too." 

He chuckles. "Love you more, babe." 

He jogs off and I'm stuck between bliss and normality, I'm absolutely the most happiest lifeguard on the beach, I'm lucky to have gotten this job, lucky to have forgiven Maxi for a small screw up...

"You coming back in?" Whippet laughs. 

I roll my eyes and walk back into the tower, sitting next to him. He picks up his binos as do I and we scan the beach again. My binos skim over Maxi and I smile to myself. 

"You and Maxi are doing good then?" 

I shrug. "We're great, really." 

"That's good to hear, did he tell you yet?" 

I put down the binos and raise a brow at him. "Tell me what?" 

He smirks. "That he loves you." 

I laugh and lean back on the chair with a large smile on my face. "Yeah.. he did on our break." 

He shakes his head with the smirk on his face and goes back to looking in the binos. "That man is so soft." 

I giggle and slap his shoulder. "Hey, that's my boyfriend you're teasing!"

He continues to chuckle and I just watch the ocean with the feelings of butterflies in my stomach. It goes back to normal quickly as I see two people in need of rescuing at the north end.

"Tower to Hutz, there's two rescues on your end." I say over the radio. 

"I've got them." He says back.
