Aurora POV

The day had finally arrived we were hours away from receiving our crowns and sitting upon the throne as King and Queen. Today was similar to a wedding for us wolves. The mating ceremony for Alpha and Lunas were celebrated by all packs showing appreciation to the new leaders and it was no different for royalty. We were showcased as being the new leaders to the wolf packs across every country. To say I was a wreck was an understatement. All the Alphas and their lunas had arrived and we had accommodated to every single one of their needs. My family were all here and so was Sam. I had a long busy week with everyone arriving to greeting them spending time to get to know them, cooking for them. And then the endless nights worrying about the final details of everything. In the morning Daxton left me sleeping knowing I haven't had much sleep the last few days. When I woke it was time for morning tea. I greeted my guests and I kissed my soon to be husband. As of tonight I will be carrying his last name.

It was time we had all our guest seated, in a big cathedral held for ceremonies and special events for the royals. I hadn't seen Daxtom since this morning and I was anxious to see him. When I finally arrived I saw him pacing back and forward in front of the double doors leading into the cathedral. He was in his Royal Blue suit with the gold emblem and gold tie. I walked up to him in my gold dress with the low V at the back. He turned to see me walking towards him and his mouth dropped and he reached out his hand to take mine. We stood face to face

"You look beautiful baby"

"Thank you you look stunning too"

He pecked me on my lips

"Are you ready my Queen"

"After you my King"

The double doors opened and we walked hand in hand down the aisle and we were told to stand while the Priest said our vows and we had to repeat them. Then he made us kneel and he blessed us with a gold staff, and we stood while the Priest announced our new titles, I felt our bodies lift off the ground and our aura change and a light surround us, and then us being placed back to the ground and when we stood again, our eyes were bright we both had a gold ring around our irises, we growled so deep and loud, a surge of energy ran through my veins, I felt stronger, more confident and felt like I was glowing and my hearing could hear the soft toy hit the ground at the back of the room, we turned and a loud applause erupted through the cathedral.

We then drove back to the house where our ballroom was transformed into a dance floor, decorated with the white and pink rose everywhere and on our chair was decorated with the royal blue and gold emblem and we sat in the front of the dance floor. The festivities began.

We danced the night away and ate till our belly's were full. My mum cried while my Dad just keep hugging me. And Travis well he was acting weird more weird than ever.

"Aurora can I can I speak to you please"

"Sure what's up brother"

"I think I I um I..."

"Travis what the hell is wrong with you today"

"I think I found my mate"

"Travis that's awesome news who is she?"

"Um I don't think she likes me though"

"What why?"

"Um she shrugged me off"

"Oh where is she I'll teach her to shrug you off"

"Shes over there with the blue dress and blonde hair"

When I caught sight of her I laughed and tapped him on the shoulder

"Good luck brother"

"What you know her who is she?"

"That my brother is Sam"

He looked shocked "Sam the bitch"

"Yep the very one"

"Aww man this is going to be harder than I thought"

I felt sorry for my brother though he is the most caring kind loving brother I have ever known. Sam is the complete opposite, she likes order, not friendly not kind and is very very harsh and rude most of time.

"Look I've learnt with Daxton that you give him space and he will come running, maybe do the same with Sam she needs you to survive but she has to work for it. I don't want you to be a complete doormat because she will walk all over you. You need to show her your dominant side. Ok"

"I don't know if I can do that to her"

"Think of it like training a new pup show them authority, show them who is boss, tame their wolf and then you can be yourself. Show yourself to soon and they will take advantage of your true nature"

"Ok thanks sis, I think I'll go for a run"

"No your not all the guards are here you need to stay here where I can see you, if you want I will go for a run with you tomorrow but tonight promise me to stay where I know you are safe"

"Fine"

I knew he wanted to go for a run but I wanted to make sure all my family were safe.

I was standing next to my brother  when I heard a window break and something come straight at me, it hit me just below my collarbone. I took a step back from the impact I looked down to see a stick hanging out. I had been shot by an arrow. I heard my name and then my eyes felt heavy, I was suddenly tired and then everything went blank.

Daxton POV

I was talking to Alpha Stanley and watching Aurora from a far. I could see her talking to her brother Travis and I can see her laughing tilting her head back with laughter. She is so beautiful and she's all mine. I can't wait to take her to bed with me so I can ravish her body head to toe. That's when I heard a cracking sound from above and I looked up to see a window broken. And I watched an arrow was being shot I turned to see that Aurora was in that direction and I ran as fast as I could to stop the arrow but it was to late I watch her take a step back and then her eyes rolled to the back of her head and she began to fall I rushed over to catch her before her head hit the ground. And I felt 10 guards surround us. And I heard guards running outside to investigate I looked to my beautiful Aurora she was losing blood but I knew she would survive it takes a lot more than an arrow to kill us Royals. I mindlinked the guards to move us to the infirmary room and the doctor to meet us there.

The doctor told us she will be fine but the poison they used is what knocked her out and he had removed most if not all of it from her body she lay motionless. I had her family watch her while I went with my guards to find the fucker who shot my mate. I could smell him I tracked him high above in a tree and when I directed my guards of his whereabouts we devised a plan to capture him. We send 5 of our guards to retrieve him from the tree and we had a rope to bound him to the tree.

"Who are you?"

He laughed "I'm your worst nightmare"

"Funny last person who said that is dead, who do you work for?"

"No one everyone, how is your beautiful mate? Dead yet" he laughed

That was it I lost it I cut his throat open. "Laugh at that motherfucker"

I furious at my guards,

"Carlos how the hell did this happen, how the hell did he get through"

"Sector 8 was compromised we only discovered this when it was to late, and all royal guards were inside covering yourself and the Queen. As instructed they were to keep their distance during the formalities"

"Fuck we will need to protect her closely, if one of you fuck up again you will answer to me, now go"

They all bowed their heads in respect and scattered

"Carlos I want you with her at all times unless she is with me"

"As you wish your majesty"

I went back to the hospital and I sat by Aurora side. My baby is my world my everything, seeing her hurt like this is driving my wolf and I insane. Killing that rogue has done nothing to calm my internal battle. She will be on lock down from now on. She will be protected around the clock and I don't care what she says. I know she will be difficult to kill but she will not be harmed again not now not ever.
