Aurora POV

We gathered intel from the guards and Carlos. From what we understood the wolves who took Ava had no scent, and the only people who can remove scents are witches. There are few and far between if you have a witch as an ally they will either be the best thing for your cause, or they can be the biggest problem for you and your pack. They can be very revengeful and have little to no forgiveness. Daxton contact  an old witch who was a family friend, from what Daxton has told me his late father saved the old witch from burning on the stake. And she has forever been indebted to the family. 

We were all gathered in Daxtons office awaiting the arrival of the witch when there was a knock at the door.

"Come in" Daxton called

In walked a beautiful lady slim figure, with bright green eyes and brown hair that layered around her face, she wore a fitting black dress. She was nothing of what I pictured a witch to look like, she saw Daxton and walked up to him and hugged him tight and smiled at him. Not in a sexual way but in an endearing Auntie way.  They spoke to each other but I wasn't listening I was to busy looking at her. Then she turned to me and smiled she walked up to me and bowed.

"Your highness my name is Andromeda but you can call me Meda everyone does" Meda said

"Please stand, thank you for your assistance in finding our daughter, would you like something to drink or eat, you must be tired" I asked

"Can I please ask for a glass of water"

"Of course"

"Meda what can you tell me?" Daxton asked 

"Well from what you tell me, you have a very strong enemy who does not care about death, or going up against Royals, they are fearless. But why they are so determine is what we need to find out, I will need to go to hospital room to see if I can find anything they may have left behind"

"Of course I will have Daxton & Travis escort you to the room, and we will meet here in the late evening, I have some where to be, again I Thank you for your help" I said

Travis looked at me and mind linked me

'What are you up to sis'

'Myself and Carlos are going into the woods, one of the guards found a white substance we are going to see if we can find anything in and around that area. While Daxton has the gift of not dying he can protect you and Meda, and you have the gift of gathering information and battle strategy what Meda finds you will know how they got in and out undetected'

'Ok be safe'

'I will'

We parted Carlos and I walked into woods into the area where the white substance was found turned every rock. I stood under a big maple tree and I looked up and on a branch high up I caught a small white powder.

"Carlos look"

"What am I looking at?"

"There on that branch up high is a white substance"

"Shit, my guards would never see this as they we weren't gifted the sight of royals, let me go up and see if I can see if there is anymore"

After a few jumps up the tree he landed so gracefully on the branch.

"There so much white powder here, I'll gather what I can and send it to the lab for examination"

He stood then looked around

"Shit Aurora I can see footprints up here in the treetops, wait let me take a photo of what I see and I'll follow it to see where it leads"

"Be careful"

We followed the white substance in the treetops and then we found ourselves out of Ava's bedroom. He jumped down and we ran up the stairs and sure enough there was a small substance on the window sill in between the cracks and then we looked around the room.

"Carlos the closet"

We opened the closet and you can see the white substance just in the threads of the carpet. 

Carlos was pacing up and down the bedroom pulling at his hair

"Fuck fuck fuck how could I be so stupid"

"Carlos what!"

"He hid in the closet with Ava while I ran around like a fricken lunatic I didn't even bother to look in the closet, I saw the window was open and assumed they had taken off into the woods, I didn't even search the room. Shit I fucked up, shit shit"

I couldn't believe it, this was so not Carlos his actions his thought process, Carlos is one of the smartest people I know when it came to plan of action right down to the T. His thought process was amazing the best I have seen. But this felt different.

"Yeah you stuffed up but you also got outsmarted by a wolf so was it a wolf or was it someone more intelligent, think about it Carlos you are a Royal, you have the gift of sight, smell and you have over a century of intelligence. They would have to be a genius wolf or another being, surely not a vampire we have a peace treaty, so Carlos who can be smarter than you?"

We stood there contemplating who would do this, then he looked and me and said

"Shit! Another Royal, we're dealing with one of our own"
