Reader X Niji: Cunning Pt2

Staring out of the carriage, you continued to enjoy the sight of your kingdom, for this would be the last night you could ever see it like this again.

Finally taking notice of the nearly awkward silence, you turned to your fellow royals and blinked catching the intense stares they gave you.

The Vinsmoke prince continued to smile stupidly with hearts bugging out of his eyes and make quiet happy noises, while the Stribus prince grinned almost giddily- maybe even borderline possessive.

Giving them a questionable look, they both snapped out of it and heavily blushed, "y-you look quite lovely miss (L/N)-san" you politely nodded to the Stribus prince, "you're simply exquisite tonight, I must thank my father for bringing me here" you fought back the invisible smirk on your features and nodded to the Vinsmoke prince as well.

Seeing the lanterns strung around the island begin to glow, you thought back to everything you've been practicing for tonight, turning to the two men just as you entered the town, you gave them a soft smile, "this is our humble capital, Heaflew, here you can sample all of the sweets our country is famous for" both giving you a nod in acknowledgement, you didn't move as the carriage came to a halt.

As your coachman opened the carriage door for you, keeping mind of your appearance, you delicately slipped out and waited your companions to join you.

"This is one of our most popular sweets shop, please follow me inside" moving in to find a lineup of anxious staff members, you gave them a soft nod, "may we have a seat?" As the commoners lead the three of you to a seat near the windows, you kept quiet and analyzed the two men.

The Stribus prince was smiling mockingly, most likely belittling the place in his head, though strangely enough, the Vinsmoke prince just sat patiently with a cool expression.

You could maybe even call it his game face, intriguing.

Finally a waiter arrived, handing the three of you a tiny plate of Dango on a skewer alongside a cup of green tea, "the Hanami Dango here is usually served during our sakura viewing festival, but since it is our specialty, we decided to present nothing but the best to you" giving them an appreciative nod, you removed one glove and used your bared hand to grab ahold of the Hanami Dango.

You felt like smiling, it was wonderful, you never really got the chance to enjoy your country like this, which might have been sad since now you were going to be leaving tomorrow with your husband to be, but even so.

You felt at peace like this.

"This tastes good" you glanced at the Vinsmoke prince, who legitimately sounded like he was surprised, "were you expecting it to taste bad?" Suddenly seeming to notice what he said, he grinned at you, "no, I didn't mean it like that, I just wasn't expecting it to taste so good is all" turning away from him, you took another small bite into the dessert.

"Ah, you seem to have something there" looking up at him to see what he was talking about, you straightened up feeling him smooth the pad of his thumb over the corner of your mouth, then you felt your face feel hot as he proceeded to eat the small clump of mochiko.

"Mn, tastes even sweeter" you turned away from his million watt grin, only to have your attention stolen by the Stribus prince glaring hard into his rival suitor, taking a silent sip of your tea, you spaced out.

You had completely forgotten that the other prince was even there.

Bidding farewell to the sweet shop's staff, you hid a smile in the shadows, the Vinsmoke prince was more calm and collected then what his first impression left you thinking, you honestly expected him to be more- how to say it, arrogant, supercilious, even pompous, but inside the shop he exhibited nothing but the upmost of manners, and even gallantry to your surprise.
