Yep, he was DEFINITELY wasted this time.

"(Y/N)! Marry me!" Laughing louder at the silly demand, the crew continued to encourage him with wolf whistles and cheers, leaving you alone in your existential crisis.

Staring hard into the wobbling man you called captain, you just continued to glare, into his red slick hair, that rough and clouded eyes, his sun-loved sweaty skin, oh no.

Pursing your lips uncomfortably, your brain scrambled to come up with an appropriate response as he continued to cuddle up against you on his knees, stinking very much of a tavern's worth of cheap booze.

Feeling a very sober blush burn your cheeks, you felt like vanishing at Yasopp's insistent cheering, "come on (Y/N)! It's not like you to leave the captain hanging!" Flaring violently, you tore yourself away from Shanks' grasp and ran up the deck to buy time.

Alright, so you WERE in love with the captain, that you were willing to admit, but- accepting a blacked out proposal was a lot different than taking up another one of his drunken one night stands.

Although it wasn't like he ever remembered something after he came back down from his high, he only ever seemed to want you when he was drinking too...

Feeling frustration begin to fuel your veins, you raced a little faster across the deck as he chased you, the crew all laughing per usual at your antics.

Why did he only chase you after he had a good talk with a few shots?

"Ah-" Flailing ungracefully as you slipped down the stairs, you felt another body jump in from behind and carry you back to the lower deck.

"(Y/N)! You gotta be more careful!" Cringing at the strong smell of beer, you pouted tiredly at the silly goof you loved with all your heart.

"Bahahaha! C'mon captain! You should treat your commander with more care y'know!" Turning to Beckman with betrayal heatedly thumping in your chest, you glanced at the empty barrels of rum toppled over all around him and deflated.

That traitor got drunk too..

"AH! (Y/N) DON'T NEED THAT DELICATE KIND'A TREATMENT!" Something about those words just rubbed you the wrong way, and before you even knew it, the crew were making excited screeching noises as you gave him the most obsessive make-out you've ever dared to give him.

Leaning away with a glare that could cause a seaking to topple over, you could feel the goosebumps along his arms rub against the fabric of your shirt as waves of your haki rolled over his shoulders.

"I thought I was gonna be your bride?" Then, that was when the crew stopped laughing and joking- seemingly not thinking you were really going to humor him.

"E-Eh REALLY?!" As Shanks looped his arms around your waist and let you stand on your own, Beckman walked up behind you with a questioning and half-concerned look, "o-oi (Y/N) whatcha doing..?"

Giving the first mate a cool, coquettish smirk, you only molded your arms around Shanks' muscled build and purred mischievously, "You deaf Beckman? We're getting MARRIED- in fact let's do it now" turning back to Shanks, he beamed down at you with a dazzling grin.

"Yes! Let's do it now!" Grinning at that, you heard the rest of the crew make sounds of objection, although before you could even remark, a sickly, dark feeling burst through the air, and everyone immediately got cold feet.

Turning back to the redhead, you felt sweat drip on the back of your neck as he dragged you in closer and glared at them like he would a marine, "does anyone have anything to say?"

Like a bunch of animals would to their alpha, they backed down wordlessly, fearing to receive the drunken wrath of their captain.

And as per usual, seeing that he had no challengers, Shanks just grinned childishly and turned back to you with puppy dog eyes, "alright! Let's get married! How we gonna do it?!"

Smiling almost evilly, you pulled at your cheap bracelet and snapped the twine with your teeth, taking the other man's finger, you spun one piece of the twine around his finger and tied it together in a little tangle- then done the same to yourself.

"All that's left is for the groom to kiss the bride!"

The moment was fast, he leaned in to claim you, and the entire crew made fearful, nearly horrified expressions while some even moved in to stop you- Beckman being among them, but the moment ended as soon as you felt those chapped yet softened lips.

Victory was made in that bed that night.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The first thing you felt was somebody rubbing your shoulders.

Groaning tiredly, you didn't care to shake the intruder off as you turned your head, making out a blurred face with red hair.

You didn't think much until you remembered what happened last night.

At that your eyes bolted open in alarm as you hid your face from sight, 'I forgot to wake up early and leave before he did'

Crud, he probably had a lot of questions.

"S-Shanks-" "I can't believe it" you instantly closed your mouth, now with your sight no longer just waking up, you could make out the semi-seriousness in his expression as he fondled the twine wrapped around his finger, sitting up in the bed lazily.

"I-" "I can't believe I've been banging the girl I've liked all this time.."

"...Eh?"

Accidentally saying it aloud, you jumped as he erupted in a cluster of rushed laughs and chuckles, "crud! I can't remember a THING either! That lucky little fox!"

He's LIKED you? Wait WHAT?

Turning to you for the first time since you woke up, you jolted seeing a mischievous look in his eyes, "well, there's a whole lot of catching up my sober side needs to do then, (Y/N)" growling intensely, you shivered as he easily slid on top of you- of course all with your compliance.

Oh, he's never done this in bed before, maybe it was because he was drunk?

Nearly choking from all the watering your mouth was doing, you nearly pounced onto him yourself as he kissed your ear.

"Crud (Y/N), now I'm really jealous of that drunkard.."

Oh yeah, he was a jealous type, oh, maybe you should have listened to the crew after all..
