christina and rylee were spending the day at the boys house. originally only christina was going to go but after a good thirty minutes of christina begging rylee to go, she did.

as soon as they got there, christina went to where she knew corbyn would be while rylee stood awkwardly not knowing what to do or where to go. she didn't want to be anywhere she wasn't suppose to be so she just leaned against the couch, pulling out her phone and looking up every few seconds hoping someone would make her feel less awkward.

eventually, jack made his way downstairs, immediately making eye contact with her and smiling.

"hey rylee," he said, smiling as he embraced her in a hug.

rylee blushed slightly, not expecting him to greet her as he did. "hey."

"you know you can sit down right? make yourself at home," jack laughed, motioning towards the couch.

rylee looked down, moving side to side ever so slightly, but jack noticed it. he noticed this is something she tends to do when she felt awkward or nervous, along with a few other things, but he found it cute.

"well christina sorta just walked away and i didn't exactly know? i guess? i don't know..." she responded, looking around the room.

"well, come on," jack said, motioning her to sit down with him.

for a moment it was silent as they looked at one another, but soon jack broke the silence, telling her he wanted to get to know her a bit better.

rylee asked him simple questions, deep questions, random questions until eventually she ran out of things to ask; jack beginning to ask her some of his own.

moving his hair from his face, he thought about what to ask. "alright, we'll start of easy. favorite color?"

rylee rolled her eyes playfully and laughed. "oh? that's all you got?" she asked.

jack sat up straighter, beginning to tell her he could ask something else but rylee cut him off, giggling a bit.

"noo, i'm joking. i swear," she sat back, becoming more comfortable, "my favorite color would probably be yellow. a basic favorite nowadays. everyone used to hate the color and now suddenly it's loved by most." she explained, shrugging.

jack have her a small smile, agreeing with what she had said. "uh- favorite sport?"

"soccer for sure." she said.

"do you play?" jack asked, genuinely interested.

rylee sighed a little, "um- i used to. not so much anymore. i feel like i don't have much time any more." she admitted.

jack nodded, continuing to ask her questions as the two of them joked around and laughed at little things they each said or did as they were getting to know one another as they shared embarrassing stories that went along with a question or an answer.

jack thought for a second as he was asking a final question before they all went to lunch. "hmm, biggest fear?"

rylee really thought for a second as she wanted to give him a realistic answer. she didn't exactly know what was her biggest fear. finally when she did have an answer, she was slightly hesitant to reply but did it anyway.

"loneliness."

as he heard that answer, he looked to the girl in front of him and promised himself she never would feel or be lonely as long as he was around.
