Josh's POV

Wow. Just wow. She's stunning. I mean, the colors of autumn bring out the beauty in anyone, but shes truly flawless. If I don't stop staring, I'm going to run into a tree. I just can't...

"Oh shit!" I yell as I trip over a rock and feel myself flying forward. Well, it wasn't a tree, but I was bound to run into something. And here I am, on the ground, looking like an absolute idiot in front of Maya. I can feel my cheeks burning in embarrassment. She doesn't miss a beat though, ignoring the fact that I tripped and fell, she sits down beside me chuckling.

"Good idea Boing! I'm exhausted! We've been walking for a while." She says as she smiles at me and laces her fingers back through mine. I feel my breath hitch when she touches me. I don't think she notices. And if she does, she doesn't let on.

We sit there in silence, just looking at our surroundings for a few moments. I'm so happy to be here with Maya. Sharing this sunset with her on our last night at the ski lodge. Almost absentmindedly, I pull her closer to me and wrap her in my arms. She stiffens for a moment, but quickly relaxes and lays her head back against my chest. Then she turns her head slightly to smile up at me.

"Ya know Boing, it's getting pretty late. Think maybe we should head back?" She asks and I groan. I dont want this moment to end. I dont want to let her out of my arms. I want to stay like this forever.

"I mean, if that's what you want to do..." I trail off and she giggles. Oh that laugh!! I internally swoon.

"I don't get to do what I really want to do" she says matter-of-factly. I laugh but then I realize what she means.

"Oh.... OH!" I say and she giggles again. This time though, she moves out of my arms and stands in front of me. I suddenly feel cold as the spot where she fit so perfectly is exposed to the cool mountain air. I look up and she has both hands stretched out in front of her and shes looking down at me.

"Well? Are you just going to sit there? Let's go." She says, waiting for me to take her hands. So I smile and reach for her. She takes my hands and helps me up. She let's go of one hand, still grasping the other and starts to walk away, trying to pull me with her. But I just stand there,  contemplating my next move.
