Maya's POV

"But I don't wanna!" I groan when Josh wakes me up. Whoever came up with mornings is a horrible person.

"I know gorgeous, but we need to get on the road. There's a Tim Horton's on the way out of the city. I'll get Riley and Lucas to meet us there. You can cafinate and we can go." He tells me. I'm really thankful for him in this moment. He knows me better than anyone at this point. I peak out from under the covers and he's smiling down at me.

"Okay fine, but I also get control of the radio." I say. He chuckles and leans down to kiss my forehead.

"Done and done. Now let's go!" He laughs and pulls the covers completely off my body. I giggle and get out of bed.

"Who even let you in here?" I ask him curiously. He shrugs and tells me it was Shawn. Well, that's new. Usually Shawn is dead set against Josh being anywhere near my room.

"So, what'll it be?" Josh asks as we pull up to the speaker box in the drive thru. I weigh my options quickly before telling him I want an extra large 3 sugar 2 milk with a shot of espresso. He looks at me weird but orders it anyway.

"... I'll also get a... large creamy chocolate chill." He adds on. That seems like a lot of sugar this early in the morning, but I dont say anything. We drive up, he pays, gets our order and we pull out. Time to leave the city behind for a week and reconnect with nature.

Josh reaches for the radio and turns it to his favorite station. The sound of Three Days Grace quickly fill my ears. I listen for a few moments but then I remember we had a deal. I reach for the radio while i look over at Josh. He's still watching the road but I can see the smile playing on his lips. I hit number 3 for my station. I love that its preprogrammed already.

As the all too familiar sound of Luke Bryan's voice washes over me, I take a sip of my coffee, roll the window down the rest of the way, throw my seat all the way back and my feet up on the dash. This is what dreams are made of I tell myself.

"Ready for the best week of your life?" Josh asks me as he takes my hand and laces his fingers through mine.

"Promises, promises, Mr.Matthews." I tease. He chuckles and squeezes my hand as we continue to drive to the middle of nowhere.
