Maya's POV

"I'm starving!" I complain as we sit around the fire. I can't remember the last time I ate anything. This morning maybe? I take another long sip of my rum and coke as I think about what I want to eat.

"Why don't we drive into town and find a restaurant since it's our last night here?" I hear Lucas suggest.

"Sounds perfect to me Huckleberry!" I agree instantly and then turn to Josh. "Whaddya say Boing? Wanna buy your official, unofficial girlfriend dinner?" I ask him, causing a laugh to erupt from Riley.

"What's so funny? Did I miss something?" I ask her, without waiting for Josh to answer.

"I think you might have, Peaches..." Riley starts, but Lucas is quick to cut her off.

"The other night, before we worked things out, Josh made it very clear that I need to stay away from his girlfriend. " he finishes. I feel the heat in my cheeks as I turn back to Josh and look at him. Hes rubbing the back of his neck and looks pretty embarrassed. I reach out for his hand and he meets me halfway.

"I didn't get the official memo." I say playfully while he smiles at me.

"Maya, will you..." he starts, but I decide to cut him off. There is no way I'm allowing that sentence to come out of his mouth. It's way too PG13 and I'm certain we are passed that.

"Don't you dare ask that question. Just tell me what it is you want." I say seriously. He looks at me with wide eyes. I smile because clearly I've left him speachless.

"Sounds like a private conversation. How about you and I go get ready to go to dinner?" I hear Lucas suggest to Riley behind me. She quickly agrees, knowing she will get all the details later anyway. After they leave, I decide to climb into Josh's lap, resting my head on his shoulder.

"What I want is you, always. Only you. And I hope you always want me too." He finally says, bringing his arms around me. I smile into his neck, placing a careful kiss over his pulse point.

"I've never wanted anyone else, Josh. It's always been you. It'll always be you." I whisper against his skin, breathing in his scent. He's intoxicating.

"Then, yes. I would love to buy my girlfriend dinner." He says, placing a kiss on my forehead.

"Oh thanks goodness!! I'm starving!!" I say dramatically, hopping out of his lap. He chuckles at me and stands up from his chair.

"Let's go get ready, Gorgeous. " he says, taking my hand and leading me to our tent.

"I honestly don't care where we go guys, I just care that we get there sooner rather than later." Riley says and I nod in agreement. We've been driving for about 20 minutes trying to decide and I'm over it.

"Okay fine. We're here." Josh says, pulling into a Denny's parking lot. I cant help the smile that spreads on my face. Breakfast food is my favorite!

We climb out of the car and walk in. We seat ourselves and the waitress is there withing minutes.

"Hey guys! I'm Justine, can I start you off with some drinks?" She smiles and brings her pen to her paper, waiting for an answer. Riley smiles back her brightest smile and is the first to speak.

"I think we'll order everything at once, Justine." Riley says politely. She orders herself a Spanish omelette with extra cheese and the biggest chocolate milk they have. Lucas gets the hungry man breakfast platter and coffee, and then to my surprise, Josh orders for both of us.

"We'll each get banana pancakes with bacon, extra bacon. Oh, and coffee. Lots of cream and sugar on the side." He says, smiling at me before looking back to Justine.

"Sounds great! I'll be right back with your drinks. Food shouldn't be too much later than that." She says, winking at Josh before she turns and walks away. I can feel the jealousy boiling just below the surface. Josh must notice, because he wraps his arm around my shoulders and pulls me in, placing a kiss on my temple before whispering in my ear.

"I'll always want you." He says gently, causing goosebumps to spread across my skin. I smile knowing that I've never believed anything more.

When Justine returns with our drinks, I'm leaning into Josh with my head on his shoulder and his arm firmly around my waist. She let's her eyes linger for a moment, realizing we're together, before she shoots me an apologetic look. I smile back before she walks away again. Maybe she's not an awful person.

Josh decides to prepare my coffee for me. He loads in the sugar and cream just the way I like it, stirring it quickly before moving on to his own.  Not long after, the food arrives.

"These are the best pancakes I've ever had!" I mumble through a mouth full of pancakes. Riley and Lucas laugh, but Josh stays silent. Shit! He's probably super turned off right now. I chew and swallow as quickly as I can. When I turn to face him, he's smiling at me.

"What?" I ask, genuinely confused.

"You're beautiful." He says sweetly before turning his attention back to his food. Now it's my turn to stare. How did I get so lucky?

"Thank you for tonight. Dinner was perfect." I say to Josh before I bury my face in his chest. He pulls me tighter to his side, placing a kiss on the top of my head.

"Can I ask you something? I told myself I wasn't going to ask, but I'm curious." He says, running his hand up and down my side.

"You can ask me anything." I tell him. I know exactly what he wants to know, and I have nothing to hide.

"What happened a few nights ago with you and Lucas? I know you had a conversation, I just dont really know what the outcome was." He questions me nervously. It's kind of cute. I never thought any guy would be nervous around me, let alone Josh. He's always been so confident.

I tell him everything. I tell him that I was clear about my feelings about him and that there would be nothing more than friendship between me and Bucky McBoing-Boing. I tell him that Lucas realized that he misread a lot of my actions as something they weren't. Then I tell him about the epiphany I had.

"I even told him about how I felt seeing him with Riley that night at the ski lodge." I say carefully. I feel him take a deep breath.

"Oh yeah? And how did you feel?" He asks carefully. I smile, knowing he's going to be upset at first, but not once he let's me explain.

"I was sad and jealous." I say simply, pulling myself up to look at him before I continue. "I looked at them and they had everything I wanted... with you." I finished, a huge smile on my face.

"I love you so much." He tells me, pulling my face towards his and kissing me with such passion I forget to breathe.
