Maya's POV

"Ugh!" I hear myself moan as my eyes flutter open and I reach over to silence my screeching alarm clock. I hate mornings. Especially Monday mornings. I had the perfect weekend, up until last night. Up until Ranger Rick decided to...

"Maya honey? Are you awake?" I hear my mom ask from the other side of my door, bringing my thoughts to a halt.

"If I say no, will you leave me in peace to sleep?" I answer, and hear her giggle in response. She opens my door, peaking in at me with a warm smile.

"I can't just let you sleep babygirl. You have school. Also, you know how Riley gets when you're late." She says to me, earning another groan. I do know how Riley gets. I guess I have to get up. I sigh and throw back the covers, sit up and toss my feet to the floor. Time to start my day I tell myself as I saunter off to the bathroom for a shower.

The day dragged on. Class after class of mind-numbingly boring lessons. Even Matthew's class wasn't good today. I mean, he taught us actual History. I can't wait to get home and just curl up in my bed.

"PEACHES!!" Riley shouts just as I'm about to sneak out the front door of the school. Damn it! I turn around to see her, Farkle, Smakle, Zay and UGH, Lucas coming towards me. I silently curse this day again before putting on the biggest and brightest smile I can.

"Hey guys. What's up?" I ask, avoiding the only pair of eyes that are attempting to stare a hole right through me.

"We're all going to grab coffee at Topanga's, then some of us are hanging out at my place. Are you coming?" Riley says, filling me in on the plan. I really don't want to. I want to go home to my bed, but before I can gather the courage to disappoint Riley, my mouth starts moving, and I'm annoyed by what comes out.

"A chance to spend time with you wackos? How could I turn that down?" I laugh. Why am I laughing? I don't want to do this. But, I hush my inner thoughts, link my arm with Riley's and walk with out group to Topanga's.

I guess this isnt so bad. We're seated in a booth. Farkle, Smackle and Zay on one side, Lucas, Riles and me on the other. I sip my iced coffee while everyone chats about their day. I might have zoned out though, because I find myself refocusing as I hear Riley yell my name.

"MAYA!" She shouts. I look at her. "Can you slide out? I need to use the washroom quick before we head out." She continues once she has my attention. I nod and slide off the bench seat, allowing her out and then sliding back in.

Everyone continues talking, I start to space back out. Suddenly I feel a hand on my thigh, slowly traveling upward. I look over at Lucas, who is still carrying on the conversation, while he uninvitedly caresses me. I see a smile pull at his lips as he realizes I'm looking at him. I reach down, taking his hand in mine, and throwing it to the side. Why does he think he can do this?

"Hey, are you guys ready to go?" Riley asks as she skips back to the table. Smackle and Farkle have other plans, and Zay needs to study for a rumored pop quiz happening sometime this week. So they all take off in their own directions, leaving Lucas, Riles and I to walk to her place.

"Well, looks like it's just us, ladies." Lucas smirks, putting himself between Riley and I. He throws an arm over each of us as we walk.
