When I Found You...

Chapter 11

I ran as fast as I could away. I knew Sal would have been surprised but I didn't imagine him to be with someone new. I guess he didn't like me after all.

"Rachel!" I heard someone shout in the distance. I presumed it was Sal so I ran faster.

As soon as my feet touched the water, I knew I made my way to the bottom of the beach. I slumped onto the silky sand with tears streaming down my face. I should've been honest and told him I liked him... I shouldn't of ran away.

I heard someone's footsteps creeping closer.
"Finally... you stopped!" I heard the voice say. I turned around to see Q stood there. "Wait... you were following me?" I asked. Q sat beside me as he caught his voice.
"Yeah... who did you think it was?" Q asked.
"Sal.." I answered. "Why was you chasing me?" I asked.
"I wanted to see if you were okay. You ran off crying" he said with a sympathising voice.
"Y-yeah I was just upset...and now embarrassed" I nervously laughed.
"Don't be embarrassed. We all get upset sometimes" Q said with a warm smile. He took off his jacket and wrapped it around me to keep me warm. It was a bit oversized but really warm and comfy.
"Thanks" I said with a smile.
"Do you want to talk about what's made you upset?" Q asked, placing his hand in my shoulder.
"It's Sal" I said, immediately regretting it. Q was his best friend. I couldn't start bad mouthing Sal to him. "Actually it's nothing" I said.
"No tell me" he warmly said.
"It's just I came back here to surprise him... and to ask him out... but I saw him kissing Kelly" I told Q.
"Kelly?" Q asked, totally astonished.
"Yep! I saw it. And I shouldn't be mad because we aren't dating but.." I begun.
"But you want to be dating him" Q finished.
"Yep" I sighed.
"Look" Q begun as he tilted my chin up.  "Everything will be okay. I'm sure there's a simple explanation" Q reassured me as we sat beneath the full moon on a dark night.
