When the bus stopped outside my house, I grabbed my bag of my things and my suitcase. I begun to roll it up to my front door until I heard someone calling my name.
"Rachel!". I turned around to see Sal running up to me.
"Yeah?" I asked.
"I just wanted to tell you how this has been one of the best summers ever. Meeting you has been one of the best things to ever happen to me.. and now that we are home- I don't want it to change" Sal explained with hope and scare in his eyes.
"Of course we won't change. Me and you... I like you Sal.... really like you. Nothing will change" I reassured him. "Wherever we are in the world... our hearts will always be joined" I added.
"Our hearts will always be joined" Sal repeated. "So- would you like to go out for lunch in about an hour?" Sal asked.
"Sure" I replied with a smile.I unlocked my front door, and treaded onto an envelope by my front door. The post. I picked it up and closed the door behind me. I slumped onto my sofa and peeled it open. The letter read:
Dear Rachel,
We were thrilled with your application to World Publishers University. You have an exceptional talent, that we would be ever so fortunate to have in our University. Worldwide, we receive many applications and manuscripts but yours certainly stuck out to us. Therefore, we would like to offer you a place in our University, in London. We begin in 2 weeks, and this will be a five year course. We will pay for your travel expenses to London. We hope to see you there,
Yours sincerely,
World Publishers University"London?" I spoke aloud. "5 years?!"
All I was thinking about was Sal. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't in love with him... but now I'd have to leave him.
"Wherever we are in the world... our hearts will always be joined.." I repeated to myself.
