The next morning, I awoke to the smell of pancakes baking. I turned over to see Sal already awake.
"Good morning" he said to me.
"Good morning to you too" I replied with a smile.
"Where were you last night? I woke up halfway through the night and you weren't there" he said.
"I was downstairs" I answered.
"Doing what?" He asked.
"Talking to your dad" I said, and immediately I saw Sal getting stressed, presuming I made things worse. I quickly walked over to him and wrapped my hands around his neck.
"It's fine! He wants to sort things out with you" I said. Sal began to smile, which melted my heart, but I knew I was too tempted to kiss him. I quickly threw my arms off him.
"C'mon" I said to get away from that situation.
We walked downstairs to be met by his parents sat at the table, with orange juice and pancakes.
"Good morning" Sals mother said.
"Morning son" Sals Dad said to Sal. I glanced over to Sal who smiled.
"Morning Dad" he replied.
"I made you kids breakfast, before you head off" his mother said.
"Thank you so much" I replied.
