I hesitated for a long time. Was he may boyfriend? Was he a friend? I took a pause that felt like forever, but realistically it was only a few seconds.
"He's my... boyfriend?" I questioned myself. "I think.." I added onto the end.
"Nice. I suppose we should get to class" she said with a smile.

I followed her into the class as I took a seat beside her. The window was open, causing a light breeze to sway our hair. Her blonde hair was swaying, as I grabbed my notepad. I turned around to see more students around my age sitting in there too.
"Good morning class, I'll be your tutor- Mr Smith. But you can call me Dave" he added with a laugh.
I could instantly tell he had a laid back attitude, quite funny too. He had brown, combed back hair. Bright brown eyes and glasses with a neat beard. His water-blue shirt matched the colour of his mug, sitting in his desk.
"So today we are going to be looking at plots for books" he began, his London accent evident as he gently spoke each word.

However, in New York, Sal was still not allowing anyone to see him. He was feeling down and he definitely needed some cheering up. As he crawled back into the dirty kitchen, filled with empty beer bottles, he grabbed the crumpled piece of paper again. Sal re-read what I wrote for the hundredth time. Deep down, he knew there was nothing to do about it.
He tossed the paper to one side, as he grabbed another beer- hoping this would solve his problems.

After University, I came home. It was a very long, yet fun day. I was so glad I decided to come here. The teacher is nice, I met Lindsey- and I'm finally one step closer to being an author. It was a great feeling. I slumped down onto the sofa and saw the picture of me and Sal in the middle of the fireplace. I thought about what to do- until I cane up with an idea.
I ran to the kitchen and grabbed a black ball point pen and a piece of lined paper, and an envelope. I decided to write him a letter.

Dear Sal,
I've just finished my first day of University in London. I was very nervous at first, but I settled in eventually. I met this girl named Lindsey- who is a few years older than me. The teacher is also really nice. We learnt about the plots for books, which was quite interesting. I feel like I'm closer to becoming an author which is amazing!!
I like it here in London. My cottage is very small, but cozy at the same time. I have a picture of me and you in the centre of the fireplace so I can always look at it and think of you.
How are you doing?? I was debating wether to even write this letter... but o thought I should. I'm sorry for the way things ended between us- but maybe we can sort them out. However- I'm sorry for the mess I've left behind. Don't be mad at Q. We were both in the wrong and he feels awful for how he treated you. I'm also sorry and I want you to know that I love you. I'm missing you so much.
Lots of love
Rachel xx

The next day I ran down to the post office and bought a first class stamp and posted it. The post man told me it should get to Sal in a week!

As I slipped the envelope through the post box, I heard someone calling my name. I turned around to see Lindsey and another guy.
"Rachel meet Matt- my fiancé" she explained.
"It's lovely to meet you" I said to him. Matt's green eyes and scruffy hair, his beard and jacket made him stand out. He was fairly good looking- but not my type. I only had eyes for one man... Sal Vulcano.
"So you go to the same university as Rachel?" Matt asked.
"Yep. Same course too" I replied.
"Maybe I'll see you around some other time" Matt said with a warm smile, as Lindsey tugged him away. I waved to them both and began walking back home.
