"This is gospel for the fallen ones. Locked away in permanent slumber. Assembling their philosophies. From pieces of broken memories. Oh, this is the beat of my heart, this is the beat of my heart. Oh, this is the beat of my heart, this is the beat of my heart. The gnashing teeth and criminal tongues conspire against the odds. But they haven't seen the best of us yet. If you love me let me go. If you love me let me go. 'Cause these words are knives that often leave scars. The fear of falling apart. And truth be told, I never was yours. The fear, the fear of falling apart." Ryleigh
I had just taken a bite of my hotdog when I noticed a guy across the street staring at me. He waited a moment and made his way toward me. I didn't know what to do. The street I was on wasn't very crowded since this was the lower part of LA. I froze. Maybe he wasn't coming for me. I saw the evil glint in his smile and eyes. I knew then that he was coming for me but I couldn't do a damn thing. Would it be so bad? Maybe he would end it for me. "No, Ryleigh, you have to fight! You can do this!"the voice in my head shouted frantically at me. I was getting ready when he grabbed my wrist and tried to pull me with him. I dropped my hot dog in the process.

"Hey! Get away from her!"a guy who saw me struggling yelled. He managed to get me away from the other man. "Thank you," I said nicely and began turning to walk away from the awkward moment. I wanted to be on my way now. "Where you think you're going pretty cheeks? You owe me!"the guy said. I froze as my shoulders tensed. "You heard me. I saved your ass back there and in return you should give me a small piece of it. I'll be quick, it won't even hurt,"he said. I knew what it meant. I balled my hands into fists and turned around. I willed myself not to let the tears fall or my voice to break.

"No, you fucking creep! I'm a minor. Stay the hell away from me!"I shouted at the top of my lungs. I saw the excitement and anger in his eyes. "Or what?"he challenged and made a grab for her. She kicked him in his manly bits. He cried out and cowered over. "YOU'RE GOING TO PAY FOR THAT!"He screamed angrily at me. I took off at a sprint. I didn't take the time to stop and see if he was following me. All I had was a sip of water left and no money. I really wanted the water but I couldn't stop running yet until I was sure I lost him. Awhile later, I finally slowed to a stop and tried to catch my breath. I lost him.

I was shaking so bad as I sat on the curb. I put my head in my hands and started to cry. I couldn't do anything right. It was getting dark and I had no clue where I was. My phone buzzed and buzzed, it had never stopped buzzing.
