The Autobot looks down at me with one blue optic, the other being covered by his servo. Both confusion and curiosity shine on his look, but he only stares as I slowly approach him.
"I... I'm sorry, I..-" He flinches. I stop walking and simply speak. "I didn't mean to hurt you, well, I did, but I didn't know it was you, I... I'm sorry" As I try to make him relax, I actually do the same for me. My hands can't seem to stop trembling, but at least my voice seems confident enough.
"~How do you know who I am?" He speaks through the radio, turning on an interview.
"Oh, my... my dad, he worked at NEST, so I pretty much know all of you guys" I look away for a moment, deciding that's as much information as I'm giving right now, considering that adrenaline still runs through my veins, and I don't want to trigger anything else. I clear my throat. "Are... Are you okay?" I grimace, noticing he's still covering his right optic. He hesitates, but pulls his hand away revealing... oh. His optic is hanging from some wires, and little sparks flash through those which are broken. "Oh, I'm really sorry," he waves his servo, like it's no big deal. Geez, what an introduction.
I take a deep breath and exhale through my mouth, slowly feeling the fear die down. Still, I can't help but look around, trying to see if there's anyone else outside.
"Is it just you?" I ask. Bumblebee nods, shrugging.
"Listen, I..." I run a hand through my face. "I can help you fix that up if you want. I've got some tools inside." He doesn't respond right away, instead moves his head, unsure. I sigh. "I know, you're probably used to Ratchet or someone over at NEST helping you with those things. I can just try to fix it enough for you to..." I frown. "Wait, what are you doing here?"
He whirrs, making that expressive sound and straightening up and shakes his head 'no'.
"Come on, are you seriously not gonna tell me what you're doing here? You scared the life out of me."
He tilts his head, unsure.
"~I'm sorry" He plays in the radio. I sigh.
"Fine." I raise and drop my arm on my side. "At least let me help you with that, and..." right. The window. Now I need to call someone to get this fixed. Great. This is just great. "you can help me cover the window with something so it doesn't all blow away during the night, deal?"
Bumblebee looks at the shattered window, then back at me. He nods.
"Alright. Just... stay right here." I turn around and enter through the broken window, watching my step as I try not to keep making a mess of the glass on the floor. This is gonna cost... a bit. And here I was trying to save some money to buy myself some new tools for work.
I head towards the dining room, where I left the backpack I use for work. I grab it and return to the studio. Stepping out through the window, I start opening the bag and pull out a robotics tool kit.
"Here. I'm not lying, I can truly help you fix it." I show him the tool kit. Bumblebee kneels down, inspecting the kit with his functioning optic. "I can..." I hesitate. "I can show you my father's NEST badge too if it would help." I hope not, since it's not something I particularly enjoy taking out. Too many memories.
"~What was ~his name?" He changes through the radio stations.
"Ryan. Ryan Dallas. He," I tilt my head, looking down. "He wasn't in Lennox's direct team, so he wasn't around you guys much. The bots we... he was around the most were Jolt and Evac." My voice dies down slightly, sadness beginning to make its slow spread through my chest. Of course I knew them well. Just as Lennox's family is close with Ironhide, we were closer to the two blue bots. Usually not named in the bigger battles like Chicago. Jolt and Evac were some of the more... forgotten Autobots. At least to most.
The sound of Bumblebee sitting down snaps me out of my mind. I clear my throat again.
"Anyway. Let's get your eye fixed before it's completely dark out here."
