With closed eyes and active thoughts, I wander in my mind, overthinking everything, knowing where this will lead me...

People always say the second time something happens to you, it's easier, you're prepared.

Well, I can assure you, this isn't any easier for me.

The first time, I crumbled, but not like them. I crumbled inside. They broke inside and out.
I lived in darkness since then, but I didn't prepare myself for a second time. I had lost everyone, why would I prepare myself for another loss if I had no one left?

But then They arrived, They turned my world back to where it was supposed to be, They didn't turn it upside down, They brought me back to the present.
They built me up, They healed me.
My scars will never disappear, but They took away the pain, They gave me a reason to hope.
They were the reason to hope.

I wasn't alone anymore. I wasn't broken like before. They slowly started making my cracks get thinner.

And then I broke again.

And it WASNT easier.

I was standing again, my heart was healed, my mind was cleared.,.
But I wasn't prepared...

My cracks started bleeding again.
The hope They gave me faded away.

Once again, I was ripped apart from my family.

And there was nothing I could do about it.

I feel alone again.
Yes, I might have Will and the other NEST soldiers, I don't even know if I still have Daniel...
Will's like an uncle to me, but he has his own family, and I don't want to feel like an intruder.

Maybe that's why I got even more attached to Them.
I didn't feel like an intruder.

But now...

I feel lost.

I hear someone opening the door. I slowly open my watery eyes and don't even bother to wipe the tears washing my face.

Will's gaze wanders through the room and then he finds me, sitting on the floor, leaning against the wall, puffy eyes and messy hair.

His look softens and he slowly walks towards me with his hands on his back, holding something.
He stands by my side and slides down the wall, sitting next to me.

"Hey I... I managed to steal this from Haddelin's office... I-I thought you would like to have it... We managed to rescue it from the debris of the building..."
He hands me something wrapped in a black cloth.

I gently grab it and take the cloth away.
My dusty and scratched arm-made alien gun.
I softly smile and run a hand through the cold metal.

"Thank you..." I say, with husky voice and soft tone.
I wrap it once again in the cloth and place it inside my back pack at my side.
