~Dream Catcher

I sit on the ground of one of the stairs of the side-floors of the Base, my legs hanging through the space between the railing and the ground, my arms stretched through the bars of the railing. Grimacing, I continue to stare at the old picture. I hold it gently, like it's going to dissolve into dust.
I've tried to find anything that might tell me the picture isn't real. Edges, shinings, shadows; I've searched for the ways to know if it's fake on the Internet, but it seems to be... well, real.
But how can it be? It can't. It simply can't. I've been driving myself crazy trying to come up with an excuse to prove it's all a lie, but none of those excuses is good enough. The more I think about it, the more it proves itself to be true. My dad... he... he was never what I thought he was? What he claimed to be? Who he claimed to be?
I sigh and drop my arms, closing my eyes for a moment; and the picture slips from my fingers.
Gasping, I quickly try to catch it as it falls, swiping my arms before me, but I'm not able to react on time. I instantly stand up, ready to run down the stairs to get it before someone else does, but a big metal hand catches the little paper.
"~Got it" I look up to see Bee smiling with his optics.
"Thanks" I breathe out, tensing up as I think in all the things I might say for him not to know what's going on.
"~What is this?" He asks, looking at the picture before handing it to me.
"Oh, It's just an old picture I found in the pocket of my jacket" I can't believe I'm lying to him. "I think it's... an old relative of my father" I place the picture back inside my pocket, guilt overflowing my mind and heart. Why am I not telling him the truth?
"~It looks familiar"
"Really?" I quickly look up at him, my eyes widened. He shrugs.
"~Maybe, ~I've met a lot of humans"
"Oh..." Well, this isn't helping, why can't this simply be fake?
"~Is everything okay?" He tilts his helm, stepping closer.
"Yeah, it's nothing" I shake my head as he keeps staring at me. Of course he knows something's wrong, he knows me. No matter how much I try to hide how I'm feeling, he knows. I sigh. "I'm just... I just feel a bit weird, you know? With this shutdown thing, Parrish being shot. I'm still taking it all in"
He slightly nods and softly places the back of his digit on my cheek.
I'm a horrible person. I'm the most dreadful human. I'm lying to him, right to his face. I'm making him think I'm not well, which I am not, but not like this. I'm making him stare at the now-fading bruises and cuts on my face and believe the way I'm feeling has something to do with everything I've gone through.
I turn around to walk down the stairs.
"~I'm here for you, ~Sweetspark, ~okay?"
I clench my fists, closing my eyes as a sting of guilt strikes my chest. I step down the last step and turn to look up at him once again. Faking the most painful smile.
