IT WAS A particularly stormy night, and you needed someone to burn the midnight oil with. So you decided to call over your booty shorts loving friend, Alois.
***
"Alois," you call over to your blonde friend. "Did you buy anything to eat?"
"Yeah. Along with some movies." He replied with a small smile.
You heaved out a sigh of relief. "Good, I'm starving."
Your friend rolled his eyes at your response. "You're always starving, you pig."
"Whatever." You said, smiling.
You decided to pop in a rom-com movie, wanting to at least watch something lighthearted amidst the blurry, windy night.
You lay against his chest, covered by a warm blanket to keep the two of you comfy all throughout the movie.
"Say, (Y/N)," Alois wondered aloud. You grunted in response, too busy watching the movie. "Can you hear my heartbeat?"
Odd question much? You thought. You pressed your ear against his chest, surprised that it was loud and fast. You look up at Alois and nodded.
The blonde boy smiled. "It's louder than the rain."
"That's ridiculous," you replied with a smirk. "The rain is deafening."
"It's called a figure of speech, you idiot."
"Why are you even saying that in the first place?" You asked, noticing how Alois stiffened at your question.
"Nothing. Just practicing lines for a girl," he replied. "I'm planning to confess tonight."
Your eyes widened at his statement. You felt happy for him, but something was off. You weren't happy happy. It was more like a "okay-im-happy-but-not-really" happy.
"Really?" You asked, trying to sound interested.
Alois nodded, his blue eyes staring straight into yours. "Yeah. I'm planning to do it over a phone call-'cause I'm too much of a wimp to do it personally."
"What's she like?" You asked. You didn't really want to go on much further on the topic, but to avoid being too obvious, you did what every friend would ask when someone confides them about that subject.
He scratched his neck, his eyes darting all around the dim lit living room.
"Well, she's really special, of course," he said. "And she's very dear to me, although I'm not sure if she returns my feelings."
"She should," you smiled, turning your attention back to the movie playing. "You're too good to be rejected."
"Really?" He asked in disbelief, a slight blush creeping up to his cheeks.
You nodded. "Yeah." You said in a weak voice.
"Whenever I look at her, I just... want to kiss her, you know? She's really damn attractive."
