ONCE, I MADE a promise to my mother and father that when I finally bring a man home to meet them, he'd be the one I was sure to marry. A man so perfect in many aspects, there was no way my parents could say a word against him. That was one of my biggest goals.

As much as I hated to, I was forced to pause my favorite movie and get up from my comfy spot on the couch. It was a super stormy night, and somebody was at the door even though it was like two in the morning. Whoever's outside clearly didn't have an idea on how late it was.
The deafening sound of heavy rain was quick to fill the enpty silence of my apartment. In front of me, was Shouto Todoroki. He stood outside under the pouring rain — still and silent. His deadpanned expression tells me that something had happened back at home once more. Maybe it was just me, but the moon seemed like it shone a little brighter tonight despite the foggy mist all around, giving me enough light to see the delicate features of his face up close.
I felt the dull pang in my chest begin to ache more. I let my shoulders drop at the sight of the stoic boy in front of me, and with a heavy sigh, said — "Oh, Shouto-kun,"
"What happened to you this time?"

My boyfriend has been coming over during the night frequently these weeks, all because of the same, sad reason. Things back at home with his parents haven't been so good, and never has been since the start. I didn't exactly understand why he's approaching me just recently out of nearly two years being together dating back to the last year of junior high, but I'm sure he had his reasons, which I respected.
My hand reached for the side of his face, my fingers tracing the features of his face with the softest touch I could give. Brushing a clump of wet hair from his eyes, I was able to see the tiniest bit of gloom from him, even if it was only for a few seconds.
"Honestly," you began with arched brows. "If you really couldn't stand that dickbag of a father at home, you can move in with me. I don't mind. As long as you'll be okay, I'll be fine too."
Shouto grabbed a hold on my hand and gave it a good, reassuring squeeze. A tight smile curved his lips. "Not now, but someday. I promise,"
We both sat in silence. Shouto-kun was soaked from head to toe, so I had to dig up the deepest parts of my closet just to find a pair of clothes that fitted his body well since he had such amazing muscles that I may or may not want to press me down during a wild, passionate night-
"I'll go start boiling some water. You just stay there and keep yourself warm, Shou-kun," I said, swooping for a quick peck on his cheek. His face turning slightly pink was the most adorable sight ever, but he pretends like he wasn't bothered by it. I could honestly kiss his cheeks all day if he didn't mind.
I walk over to the kitchen and start boiling some water the same time I hear the movie I was watching resume. I silently thanked my boyfriend for doing that. Some background music felt nice and made things less awkward between us.
I was about to pour in the broth when I felt a pair of warm hands hold onto my hips. I flinch a little, thinking that it was kinda unlikely of Shouto after feeling upset, but I continue to do my work despite this distraction.
"(Y/N)," Shouto says in a low voice. "You look lovely."
I felt embarrassed all of a sudden. I didn't look presentable in front of him right now since I thought he wasn't coming over for the night. My hair was a mess, same goes for my clothes.
