Hi all,

So the next few chapters of The Broken One and The Precious One may change your perspective of Ned.

He is portrayed very different to how he was in The Silent One. Just remember that even the best of us have our uncool moments.

Also chapters 13-16 of The Precious One focuses on Ned. In this book, I have talked about him getting arrested and having a court date in September to have his criminal record cleared. His crime occurs in chapter 14 of The Precious One.

I didn't say goodbye to Sarah that night, I simply went back to my apartment, packed a suitcase, and jumped on the first flight to San Francisco.

Sam was staying at my apartment till he was done helping his brother out. He didn't ask many questions, I just told him that I'm attending a funeral and that was the end of the conversation.

I was picked up from the airport by Jenny and Chris. Both greeted me with hugs and sad expressions. The car ride was completely silent from memory. Neither of them dared to speak. I didn't come home for Christmas months earlier, so I hadn't seen my family in almost a year.

When we arrived at my family home, the gates opened slowly. Gina was always the one who opened the gates for us.

Entering the house after so long was brutal. I didn't feel like revisiting the memories that laid behind the walls, but of course I had to.

"Dad!" the young girl cried as running towards Chris.

She stopped slowly in front of me with wide eyes. After a few seconds of examination, she hid behind Chris's leg. The blond child had bright green eyes and fair skin like her mum. It was difficult looking at her, because all I saw was Elise.

My second thought was what the hell is she doing up?

It was like three am at that point. I hadn't slept, not even on my five hour nonstop flight over there.

"Don't be shy Cleo" Chris said softly to the girl "it's only uncle Ned"

I glared at that child with resentment and anger. I shouldn't have, but I did.

"I'm going to use the restroom," Jenny announced slowly before disappearing from my sight.

"Ned" another voice greeted. I looked up to see a woman whom I just rolled my eyes at "I'm glad you could make it" she wrapped her arms around me.

"Of course" I nodded slowly at my father's wife.

She pulled away with a smile. The woman wore a grey pencil skirt and a white blouse from memory. I remember her outfit well because she wore the exact same thing to the funeral the next day - Much to my dismay.

"Ppsss dad whose zat man?" Cleo whispered as Justine and I slowly walked through the home.

"Your mommy's brother" Chris responded simply "remember he gave you a stuffed bunny for Easter last year?"

"Ppss" I kicked the legs of her chair. "Ppss"

"What" she looked over her shoulder.

"Did you do exercise three a?" I half smiled.

"You mean last night's homework?" Elise cocked a brow.

I responded with a nod "I was nailing Debra soooo"
