Hi all,
So this chapter is so IMPORTANT to the main plot/closing to this book. I high key recommend reading with tissues beside you because I definitely cried while writing this chapter.
Also, please check out the song above which relates to Ned's character immensely :)

I arrived at the airport around eight thirty pm, to find Jenny in the distance with a straight face.
"Do you have everything you need?" She immediately asked as ripping my suitcase away from me.
"Hi Jen, nice seeing you too" I cocked a brow at my old friend.
Jenny laughed as wrapping her arms around me, "sorry, did you have a nice flight?"
"Yeah, It was alright" I nodded as we walked side by side through the airport.
"Well, I hope you're all rested up," she said with her red hair pulled in a tight ponytail, "we have a big day ahead of us tomorrow"
"We?" I raised a brow.
My court hearing was the next day and my good friend Jenny just wanted me to make a good impression and well, not screw up.
"You don't think I'm letting you go alone do you?" She laughed without humour, "I have to prep you for it, after all, I am going into Law School next semester"
"Hey, you don't tell me that!" I pushed my brows together.
"I just did" she rolled her eyes, "besides, that way I can help you, Sam, and Eva with any...future legal troubles"
The three of us hadn't had any legal troubles for six/seven years so it was safe to say that her services weren't needed.
Jenny just has a history of not thinking before she speaks.
I nodded with slight offence "right, anyway, is dad home?"
Jenny was always at my family home since Gina died. A lot of the time, helping Chris with Cleo when my parents weren't around.
I didn't know if Jenny was still hung up on Chris, but I wouldn't be surprised if she were.
Jenny nodded "yeah and so is Cleo, so please be on your best behaviour"
I found it difficult to be in the same room as Cleo. I guess, apart of me blamed her for Elise's death, which I know is unfair of me but that's what I was like back then.
That day in San Francisco changed all that for me.
"I'll try" I rolled my eyes.

"I'll be back here tomorrow morning to pick you up" Jenny informed as I jumped out of her car.
"Thanks" I waved as walking up the driveway.
I opened the front door, using the key in my back pocket. I walked through my family home slowly, everything still looked and smelt the same as it did the last time I was there.
I looked in front of me to spot Cleo standing on the bottom step of the staircase.
"Hey you" I called out to the five-year-old, "you got any idea where the old man is?"
"Huh?" She furrowed her brows as taking a few steps towards me.
"My dad" I specified but she just shot me a blank look, "grandpa?"
