"What are you doing here?" I sunk my hands into the pockets of my jacket as we walk down the sidewalk.
"I don't have any classes till Monday, so I'm helping my brother and his wife move houses" Sam shrugs "I was on my way to Jimmy's anyway when Sarah called"
"She shouldn't have called you" I shook my head as we slowly entered a bar.
Sarah did what most did - called someone else to take over because she didn't know how to handle me. I was used to it.
"She had every right to," Sam told me as we took a seat at the bar. "My sister ain't good at dealing with shit...just take a look at her love life"
That was true. Sarah was difficult. She was always jumping from different guys. At that moment in time, she was currently on a break from some douche bag. But I'll get to that later.
I nodded "true"
"Two beers" Sam ordered before glancing at me, "She told me that you jumped Jimmy"
I shook my head "it wasn't like that"
His wording made it sound like I attacked him. I only shoved him.
"So you didn't rough him up?" Sam cocked a brow.
"No, I did" I sung my head onto the bar top "...It doesn't matter why"
I found out later that Jimmy didn't tell that mentalist dude anything. Maybe genuine magician/psychic freaks actually exist.
"You my man need someone to tell you to get your shit together" Sam sighed "that's why we got Sarah to help you out in the first place"
I rolled my eyes "well she's doing a terrific job"
"You know I told Sarah to help you because of your sister" He announced "because of all she did for me"
So it turned out that Sam and Elise were a lot closer then I could imagine. I thought that Elise was creeped by him if anything and kept her distance. Boy was I wrong.
"What do you mean?" I narrowed my eyes at Sam.
"I remember all the times Elise told me to get my shit together" he reminisced "you know the first real conversation we had, it was about Angel"
My eyes widen at Sam "Elise knew about Eva? How?"
"Yeah she found Angels picture in my wallet and asked me about it" he admitted "she knew about my cocaine stash as well"
I shot my head up "right"
That didn't surprise me. Elise was good at evoking stories out of people. It was one of her gifts.
"I thought she told you everything?" He narrows his eyes.
Elise told me a lot less than I wanted. Maybe if she was completely honest with me then things could have worked out differently.
"Yeah I wish, she kept being knocked up from me" I reminded him, "She told Blake first remember"
"Yeah I remember" he nodded "Why though?"
Remember those secrets I mentioned. Yeah well. Turned out Blake opened up to Elise, and she blurted out her secret. How did I find out about all his secrets? Well, I'll get to that.
I shrugged "I don't know"
"She only kept it a secret for a month" Sam recalled.
"If they didn't get into that car accident then it would have been a lot longer" I informed.
"Yeah that's true" He nodded. "....You saw the resemblance first right?"
I nodded "apparently"
"Meaning?" He cocked a brow.
Meaning, that although my friends denied seeing the resemblance, I was willing to bet otherwise. Eva and Elise got together with Chris in the same way.
"How could they not?" I cocked a brow at the bartender gave us our beers. "Besides, Blake was eager to know her, Chris wanted to fuck her since he met her, and Jenny was antsy to become BFFs with her"
"The night of the dance when Angel looked like her...I said what I had to" he admitted randomly.
"Which was?" I raised a brow.
"That only you saw the resemblance" he announced.
I shrugged "I'm the only one who would admit to it"
I had spent most of my last three months of high school trying to get everybody to admit that they looked alike. Nobody admitted it, and to tell you truth I believed that they never would.
"That was a big night" Sam reminisced "Your hearts stopped when you all saw her, Jenny's did literally....we never did find out who spiked her drink"
I looked down in shame. "Yeah" I gulped.
"No" he shook his head in disbelief "it was you?"
I rolled my eyes "Yeah I'm the one who slipped Jenny the rape drunk"
"But you know who did?" He raised a brow.
I had known since that night. Hell, I knew that she overdosed before she was examined. The next day at school I was angry, and Sam and Chris's fight didn't help.
I nodded slowly. I guessed that it was time to let the cat out of the bag. That's the only reason why I told Sam that night.
"Why didn't you ever say anything?" Sam lowered his voice.
"I did" I nodded "right before I met up with you guys in the cafeteria"
"If you go near Jenny or any of my friends again I'll dissect you alive!" I threatened her.
"I thought the drink was the psycho new girl's" Kelsey admitted as shaking in her boots. "Jenny was never supposed to get hurt-"
"Her name is Eva! And the next time you see her you're going to wish her and Chris the best" I screamed, "do you understand?"
She nodded fearfully "Yeah"
"So Kelsey Williams spiked Jenny's drink, thinking it was Angel's...Angel did mention Kelsey saying something to her...I guess that's what that was about" Sam sighed.
"Yep" I took a sip of my beer.
I found out later that Jenny was already high that night. The drugs that she took combined with Kelsey's caused a reaction hence the night at the hospital.
Suddenly his phone began buzzing "Yeah" Sam pressed his cell against his ear. He sighs "you're kidding...okay I'm on my way" he stuffs his cell back into his pocket before guzzling his beer quickly and tossing cash onto the bar top "If I'm not back in an hour call the cops" he orders as standing up.
My eyes widened in confusion as following him outside. "What's going on?" I asked.
"Sarah's ex showed up at her apartment" he explained.
"So?" I blinked.
"So he's not leaving," he told me "and he needs his ass kicked"
