Part 37 - They're Gone

The knocks on Elena’s door make her back down to earth from her muse. She’s sitting on the window, thinking about her big sister. She turns her head to the door and wonders who that is. If it’s Liam or Louis, she’s definitely in trouble because she should’ve been sleeping.

“Elena!”

The door is opened and someone’s coming in. It’s Harry, bring his laptop along with him. He’s smiling to her as he’s closing the door. Elena immediately got relieved.

“Look what I’ve got!”

Elena stands up and walks over to him wondering. “You’ve got a laptop?”

He laughs in instant. “That’s not what I’m talking. I’ve got a movie for us to watch.”

“Whoa really? What’s the title?” She asked excitedly.

“Despicable Me.” He said, then he puts his laptop on the side-bed table.

“Despicable Me?”

“Yeah. Never heard of it?”

Elena shakes her head innocently.

“It’s an animation movie. Well I guess we get to watch it then. I’m sure you’d love it.”

“Well, let’s see!” She scoffed.

[Bell rings]

The sound of the annoying bell at the front door almost interrupts Zayn’s conversation with his mom. He doesn’t like it if anyone bothers him whenever he was on the phone with his mom.

“Ugh, mom. There’s someone at the door. I’ll call you later, okay?”

Gladly his mom always takes it easy. But Zayn doesn’t. He gets up with a mumble in his mouth. He walks over to the door and opens it. His expression turns surprised and worried as he sees Jay and Howard.

“Whoa! Dude what’s up!” Jay greeted Zayn with a handshake.

So did Howard cheerfully. “My man, Zayn. We got a really great news for you.”

“What news?” Zayn asked confusedly as he closed the door.

“You did it, Zayn! You. Just. Did it.” Howard said dramatically when he was just about to sit.

Jay, who’s already sitting down, just smiles happily and puts out a laptop from his backpack. Zayn just looks at them still with his confused face. He just sits beside them on the sofa and waits for them.

“What did I do? You guys don’t get me confused. Seriously.”

“The plan that we’ve talked about yesterday. Look at all of these news.” Jay said as he turned his laptop over at Zayn.

Zayn reads it in his mind every single word on the screen and starts scrolling it down.

The more he reads, the more his eyes turn widen. Jay and Howard exchange looks happily.

Zayn’s reaction at first actually is angry. Why did the paparazzis get all of this stuff and make the rumors overrated-ly? But they’re all talking about how close Zayn with Elena this afternoon. Isn’t it good to see public sign him as a good guy ‘again’?

“You’re successfully turning your fans at you again! Congratulation!” Jay cheered.

Zayn just briefly looks at Jay and raises his eyebrows. He then looks at the screen again. Scrolling down. Then he opens the other tab and reads it down again.

“They were definitely stalking me. Even fans are not this overrated.” Zayn mumbles.

“Isn’t it what we expected? Now look at your twitter account!” Jay commanded.
