Part 9 - The Conversation

“Why would she be worried about me?” Zayn looks on to his iPad again, his expression turns normal.

“Because she knew that you hate her. I don’t get it, Zayn. Why do you feel like she would be a disaster for us?” I asked with a bit of anger.

“I guess that no one knows the reason.”

“Whatever the reason is, I don’t like your attitude to her. She’s just a girl from an orphanage, Zayn.” Oh I don’t like to do this. I’m being a daddy again.

“I know, Liam.” He said with a really relaxed face.

“I want you to take her out tomorrow, make her feel that you like her existence to be here!”

“What?! Why do I have to do that?!” His face turns really mad to me. But I have to do this.

I answer, “because I don’t want her to be sad just because of your attitude.”

“but I don’t want to do that.” He said, sounded like a child. An evil child.

“We’ve dealt about this, Zayn. I want everything to be fine before our concert on Friday. Which is the day after tomorrow. We also don’t want this problem to strike our good names, do we? Well at least until they find out.”

[End of Liam’s POV]

[Let’s go to Zayn’s!]

I sigh. I don’t like Liam’s idea so much. But I can’t say that I don’t agree about what he said. I don’t want to have a useless business with Elena. But I can never win a fight with Liam, he’s always too right to argue with.

“Fine.” Finally I said that with my heavy heart.

“Good. I believe in you.” Liam said as he tapped on my shoulder. Then he left.

I’m thinking about it all. Well, take her out, make her happy, that’s not a hard thing to do. Just until the concert is done.

I can’t sleep. I really need to do something. My eyes are still wide awake.

I unlock the door of my room and the house is really on silent. I get out and walk over to the kitchen to get some snacks. Maybe if I’m full, I will fall asleep quickly.

So I walk through the hall, and go straight to the kitchen. Wh-.. what’s that?

“AAGHHH!!”

“Aaarrgghhh!!!”

Calm down, Zayn. It’s Elena. I thought it was a ghost or something. I wasn’t scared, okay? I was just startled.

“I’m sorry I just screamed at you. I was so surprised.” She said, sounded very guilty with a guilty face.

“What are you doing here at midnight?” I asked because I just remembered that Louis had told her a bed time story. She should’ve been in her bed.

“Nothing. I just.. want to eat a bit.” She said. I can see that she’s hiding something.

I’m still standing here, moveless. I look at her hands, they’re trembling. Not really clear actually, I just know that they’re trembling. Well, I don’t want to mind.

I walk over to the fridge while she’s opening her snacks. After I get a snack that I want, I close the fridge and my eyes suddenly catch on Elena’s trembling hands again. Seriously, Elena? Do you have to make me care?

“Are you okay?”

“Yes. I’m okay.” She smiles at me. “Thank you for asking.”

Her smile is really lighting. Why does she suddenly look… happy?

“you’re welcome.”

I can’t help but looking at her with my confused face. Instead of smiling back. Well, why should I be?

I open my snack and start eating them. The sound of Elena’s snack that isn’t opened yet starts to annoy my mind. She’s still trying to open that. I mean, this house is on silent. And is that really how you break the silence?

“Do you need any help with that?” I bet this is the kindest way of how I stop the noise.

She looks at me with a wondered face at first, but then it turns a smile again. “Yes, please.”

She gives me the snack and I start to rip the wrapper. It’s just easy to me. Maybe it’s because her trembling hands.

“Here.”

“Thank you.” She smiles at me. Again.

I can’t help but say, “you’re welcome.” Again.

Then she goes away to her room. She leaves. Really? That’s it our conversation looked like? Oh well. The conversation always runs dry if I do it with her in my opinion.
