I open my eyes, it has so much light in my room. I stand up and stretch my body and then it hit me. I have school. And I'm running late. Fuck. I open my bedroom door and before I get out I look from left to right. Okay, no one. We move. I run down the stairs and get in the kitchen but what I face was unbelievable. A half-naked man in my kitchen.
" Jesus Christ "
I say completely shook and he turns to my way. He smiles when he looks at my eyes. This is Klaus my mother's boyfriend.
" Good morning "
He says. How can he be so calm? He is half-naked in front of his girlfriend's daughter. I look down. I can feel my cheeks burn.
" Uh, why are you here? "
I manage to say. I was so ashamed.
" I slept here"
" Nice "
I say and move my head. I'm gonna fall down. An awkward silence follows.
" I'm making breakfast for your mother, do you want something to eat? "
He asks if I want to eat at MY HOUSE. AT MY HOUSE. I can't believe how I end up like this. I take a breath.
" No, I will make something on my own "
I sound rude but I was angry. And to be real I didn't care. He looks at me and I go to the freezer and take the bottle with the milk as I go to get upstairs.
" You will drink it all? "
I turn and look at him.
" Yes "
" I want some in my coffee "
I take a deep breath and smile. No, don't kill him, no. Melanie, calm. You are too young to go to jail. I let it in front of him and I turn my back.
" Now you can take it "
" Keep it "
I will tell you where to put it. No, no. Calm. And without it, I have lost so much time and I'm going to be late. I run upstairs. I get into my room and start getting ready. He slept one night here and he thinks that this is his home. I put on clothes and get out again with my backpack on my shoulder. He is not in the living room or the kitchen. Thank God. I hope he left. I lost the first period, I knew it but that gives me time to go buy myself something to eat. The good thing is I have school so I can be away for a lot of hours.
