Chapter 8: Meeting the turtle shell hermit

The next morning, Bulma came back in the ship with a surprise. "Who's the old geezer?" You asked Bulma. She smiled at you. "That's your new trainer, master Roshi." Bulma answered "he-" you interrupted Bulma. "I know who he is..... Goku offered to get him to train me instead of him." You said clenching your fist. "Why should I let him train me? Give me one good reason." Bulma saw the angry in your tone and eyes. "He's the only one that teach you ki, that I know of so far." Bulma pointed out. You sighed, realizing it was pointless to argue about training with him. While you didn't want to be trained by Roshi, he is the only earthling with Ki that you known of that wasn't part of the Z fighters that rejected you. You walked up to Master Roshi, who was currently snoozing in a chair.
"Oh yes, that binki looks good on you sweetheart..." Roshi mumbled in his sleep. Realizing he was a pervert, you face-palmed yourself. "Sigh, Hey Master Roshi! Wake up!" The sudden noise made Roshi jump. "What? Who are you?" Roshi asked as he scratched his back. "I'm Y/n, Bulma said you could train me." Roshi looked at you for a minute. "Could? Yes, Will I? No." That was an unexpected answer. "What do you mean no!" You yelled at Roshi. "Prove to me your worth teaching." Roshi explained to you.
"Prove my worth....." You thought to yourself.
Master Roshi had perverted thoughts of you bringing beautiful women to him. "Hehehehe" Roshi said while day dreaming. "I challenge you to a fight Master Roshi!" You shouted to Master Roshi. "Huhhh!?" Master Roshi said having his day dream shattered by your challenge. "I challenge you to fight, if I win you must train me!" Master Roshi thought about this "and if I win?" Master Roshi asked. "I'll do anything you ask me to do." Master Roshi's perverted thoughts came back. "Hehehehehe." Master Roshi said daydream "You have deal kid!"

After agreeing to your challenge, master Roshi and you went outside the spaceship to fight in the arena. "Y/n, are you sure your ready to take on master Roshi?" Bulma asked you. "He maybe old but he's still a strong fight. Bulma's warning didn't scare you. "Don't worry Bulma, I got this!" Videl watched in fear as if of you were about to be killed. "Please win this Y/n." Videl whispered to herself.

Roshi and you stood facing each other in the arena. "Last chance to back down." Roshi offered you. "No thanks, I want to see how this fight ends." You insisted. "Suit yourself." ..... Both of you stand off, staring at each other. You take a stance. A few minutes pass. "Are you guys ok?" Videl asked both of you. Her answer was soon answered as both of you of guys clashes with afterimage strikes. Master Roshi and you both strike at each other, dodging and striking. You grabbed at Roshi to gain leverage, only to grab air. After minutes of fighting, both you begin to tire. Neither of you gained or loss footing, always keeping the other in check. An idea crept in your mind, you vanished in front of Master Roshi and grabbed at him again. Master Roshi blocked and grappled back at you. Seeing an opportunity, you let master Roshi grab you. After being grabbed, you gave master Roshi a nasty surprise in a form of a elbow to his side. Seeing an another opportunity, you grabbed master Roshi's arms and head butted him and sent a fury of kicks in his chest and finished the combo with kicking with both your legs at the same time. "Ack!" Master Roshi choked out. Blood was spewing out of Roshi's mouth. "Did I win?" Bulma and Videl cheered you another victory......
Only for it to be cut short when master Roshi stood back up.

Looking at master Roshi, you see his body is more muscular then before. "It's time for me to get serious." You heard master Roshi say. "You have been warned." You grin at his challenge. "Bring it on!" Both you clashed again, only this time you were slowing losing ground to the more muscular Master Roshi. "Crap, I need to think of something before I lose!" You thought to yourself. Unfortunately for you every strike you landed, two would hit you in return. Unable to hold in anymore, you collapse to your knees.... "Damn it... You got me....." Master Roshi stood up from his stance, ready for your surrender. Only for him to hear the sound heavy items failing off of you. Looking down master Roshi to his surprise sees weighted clothing. "Almost..." You said finishing removing your weighted braces and boots. Your now less restrained body moved faster than master Roshi's body. Dealing multiple hits and dodging before he could strike back. You had the advantage again. Master Roshi spewed a little bit more blood. You vanished further away from you. "You leave me no choice..." Master Roshi told you. "I'll have to use my Ki" Videl and Bulma gasped. "He's not serious is he? He could kill Y/n" Videl asked Bulma. "I wish he wasn't serious...." Bulma answered. Master Roshi cupped his hand me to his side. "He's preparing a attack!" You thought to yourself. "I'll dodge when he's about to release it....." After finishing your thought, you were struck by thunder from Roshi's hands. Master Roshi used Thunder shock surprise to ensure you couldn't get away from his ultimate attack. "I can't move!" You thought to yourself again. Master Roshi cupped his hands again Kaaaaa-meeeeee-haaaaammmeee-haaaaaa! You heard master Roshi shout this as a stream of blue energy blast out of his cupped hands. "I have no choice.... but to take the hit!" The stream of energy blasted you and heavily damages your body as you slump to the ground. "Y/n!" Screamed both of the girls at your damages body. "Please don't die." Videl thought. "Get back up Y/n." Bulma thought. "That's it, you're done." Master Roshi stated. "We better rush you to a hospital bef-" master Roshi stared wide eye at the sight of you standing up. "No... I refuse...." You take a step towards master Roshi. "To... be... beaten!" You yelled at Roshi , while unknowing charging an energy ball in your hand. "Raaahhhh!" You yelled charging master Roshi. Just as you were about to make contact master Roshi spoke up. "I surrender." This stopped you in your tracks. "Wait, what?" Master Roshi smiled at you. "You heard me, I surrender, which means you win." A painful smiled graced your face upon hearing this. "I... did.....  it!" You breathed out before lying on the floor. "Man, I'm beat..." You laughed. "We start training tomorrow, until then let's get you to the hospital." Master Roshi said shirking back to his base form. "Y/n!" You hear a shout as you begin to feel drowsy. "Hey.... Videl.... I did it... You see?" You showed her you could 'beat' master Roshi. "We have to get y/n to the hospital!" Bulma yelled as she and Videl helped you onto the ship. Master Roshi helped when you finally lost consciousness. "I'm sleepy....." were your final words before passing out.

Upon waking up, you look around the new place your in. "Woah, where am I?" You asked yourself. "I must have blacked out..." Looking around a bit more, you realize this is a hospital. "I'm glad to be alive after that attack." You look around again and see its nighttime. "I wonder how long I'm going to be here for?" You asked yourself. "I hope the girls are ok...." You soon hear light sleeping and find the source. Videl and Bulma were sleeping in chairs close to your bed. "They couldn't leave my side." You smiled with a laugh. Soon you realized that you surprise neighbor in the snoring form of master Roshi. "I can definitely understand why you're here. After that beating I gave." You joked to yourself. "Well I better head to bed if I want to attempt to leave the hospital tomorrow. "Good night girls, oh and uh good night master Roshi." You laid back into your bed to drift back to sleep.

(Our first official fight scene finally happened, What will happen next? Will we finally learn use ki? Or will we be snoozing away in the hospital for week. Find out next time on the next chapter!)
