More than just a weakling.

Chapter 27: Recovery

".....ugghhhh" Was all you muster up to say how you felt in the morning. Needless to say you felt like you were half dead. "Everything hurts!"
Videl was the first to wake up. "I guess the pain killers wore off......" Videl said groggy.

"I feel like crap......." You admitted. "I feel worse then when I took Kamehameha blast from Master Roshi." Videl was already up and trying to comfort you. "Don't move too much Y/n! You'll strain yourself more." Videl reasoned as you stopped moving.

Master Roshi and Bulma woke up next. "It seems all that strain finally took a toll on your body." Master Roshi commented. "Yep..." Was all you said trying not to move too much. "You guy's wouldn't have anymore senzu beans, would you?" You asked. Master Roshi gave you a funny look. "Does it look like I'm made of senzu beans!? In other words we unfortunately don't have any...." Master Roshi said trying to joke.

You gave a sigh as you looked over at the still sleeping Chi-Chi. "How could I ever eat a senzu Bean while Chi-Chi is injured just as bad as me...." You said to yourself. "I can hear you, you know." Chi-Chi said as she looked at you with one sleepy eye. "Don't be such a worry wort." Chi-Chi said with a smile as you smiled back.

"That's a ironic, coming from you." Bulma commented. "What's that supposed to mean!?" Chi-Chi said with a light blush of embarrassment. "It means you're usually the worry wort." Bulma said with a laugh. "I am not!" Chi-Chi defended. "I'm just simply looking out what's best for everyone."
Chi-Chi's and Bulma's arguments made you laugh a bit, as they continued on.

A doctor came by to check up on you and Chi-Chi. "Well I have some good news and bad news." The doctor told both you. "The bad news is you're suffered from some serious inquiries that will hinder your movement Mr.Y/n.... And I don't just mean your broken leg." The doctor explained. "The good news is you should be able to move around in a few days maybe..... You on the other hand." The doctor gestures to Chi-Chi. "Seems like your more lucky then him.... You should be able to move today with only a few minor injuries."

You were happy to hear that Chi-Chi was going to be better.... You were also unhappy due to being stuck in bed for awhile. ".....just great..." You thought.

The doctor left, only for a new person to show up. It was the announcer from the tournament.

"Huh? What are you doing here? I lost the tournament..." You said confused.
"I know you lost....." The announcer said. "But that doesn't mean I get to check up on you. Now does it?" The announcer finished with a quick laugh. "I also came by to give you this." The announcer handed you an envelope.

"What's this?" You asked. "What did you didn't know?" The announcer said surprised. "There's also a runner up prize." You opened up the envelope. "Woah!" You yelled out loud as you saw a big wad of Zeni. "How much is this?" You asked baffled. "It's 5 million zeni. This made your eyes open up surprised. "Wow....." Was all you could muster up to say.

Videl chuckled at you. "You seem surprised Y/n! Haven't you ever seen a lot Zeni before?" You slapped yourself mentally as you almost forgot that Videl was the daughter of the "supposed" champion of the world! And Bulma.... was one of the richest people around the world as well.

You looked back at the announcer. "Thank you..." You tell try announcer. "It was a pleasure to have you in the tournament." The announcer replied with a smile before he starts to walk away.

"Can I ask you one last thing before you go?" You ask the announcer. "Yes?" He asked turning back to face you. "When is the next tournament?" You asked. The announcer laughed again. "There is going to be a few beginner tournaments happing in the next few days!" The announcer replied before leaving.

Everyone looked back at you to see a look of determination on your face. "Master Roshi." You said facing Master Roshi. "Yes?" He asked. "Do you think it's possible to get me a senzu bean in that amount in time please?" Master Roshi gave you a hearty smile. "I'll do you one better and I'll let you meet the person who grows them!" The thought you excited.

"Who knows you might learn a thing or two from him!" Master Roshi commented before heading towards the door. "I'm going to get some grub. Does anyone want anything?" He asked. Everyone said they were fine.
"Suit yourselves." He said before leaving. Leaving you and three girls alone.

"And now I have a question for all three of you." You say grabbing the girls attention. They all turned to face you. "How would all you like to help me gather the dragon balls?" You asked all of them. "I would say what took you so long to ask!" Videl responded. "I don't see why I shouldn't tag along." Chi-Chi relied. "I have a dragon radar that will surely help!" Bulma piped in.

The plan was settled. You're next adventure after getting healed all of you will be to hunt the Dragon balls.

The rest of the day flew by in a blink of an eye. Chi-Chi was able to walk around with only a few minor injuries that hindered her movement only a little. Bulma had to excuse herself out of the room.
You wondered what Bulma was doing as she left.

Bulma walked inside her ship to check up on her own little patient. "So....." Came a voice Bulma heard upon entering the ship. "How is he doing?" Bulma turned on the lights to reveal the head of Knight attached to a few chords. His body laid beside him on a table, it was still being repaired by Bulma. "Y/n is doing fine..." Bulma replied. "But you should really be worried about yourself Knight." She tried to reason. "I... Know but I still want to make sure he's well. He one of the very few people who bested me." Knight explained. "I want to be able to fight him again."

Bulma listen to Knight as she worked on his body. "Your circuitry is actually quite unique from most machines I've seen." Bulma admitted to Knight. "Who created you?" She asked. "That's classified Ms.Briefs, that information is not of any importance right now." Knight explained not trying to hurt Bulma's feelings. "Spoilsport." Bulma said as she sticked her tongue out at him.

Knight ignored her behavior. "So how is my body repairs doing?" Knight said trying to change the subject. "Pretty well so far.... You should be able to use your body tommorow... Until then you should rest up!" Bulma told Knight.

"Thank you Ms.Briefs." Knight replied. "No problem Knight, and please just call me Bulma." Bulma said to Knight. "Thank you Bulma. Can I ask you one last thing?" Bulma payed full attention to Knight. "Why did you help me? You could've just let me rot away into junk metal.... But instead you decided to repair me why?"

Bulma thought a bit until she came up with an answer. "Well.... For starters, you could help Y/n grow with training. You also seem like a good Ally to have on our side." Knight let's the information sink in his head. "So you're only helping because I'm strong?" He asked.

Bulma chuckled at him. "Of course not silly. The actually reason I saved you was because you didn't deserve to die. I know you could have killed Y/n, then you would have went too far in my opinion.... But Y/n seemed to have his first actually challenge since he's gotten stronger. So maybe by doing this you two could help each other to get better."

If Knight could smile he would have... But unfortunately he was just a Knight helmet for a head. "Thank you again." Was all Knight said besides another comment. "You must really like Y/n." Bulma stopped working on Knight's body and looked out a window. "Hehe I guess I'm getting easy to read...." Bulma said with a slight blush.

"It's a official.... Videl now has a love rival." Bulma thought to herself.

Meanwhile a certain girl sneezed around Y/n bedside. "Bless you Videl! Are you ok?" Y/n asked Videl. "I'm fine!" Videl said with a smile. "It was probably just dust...." Videl told you....

Only if she knew what challenge she would have to face later on.
