Chapter 13: Training for the first tournament

"I'm entering a tournament." you said to everyone at the table the next morning. Chi-chi knew you were going to enter already, while everyone else was surprised. "There's a new tournament coming up?" Videl asked. "I don't really know the details." You admitted. "I do~" Chi-chi sung as she pulled a flyer out her pocket. "It's called the advancement tournament, this one is for beginners." Chi-chi explained. "Winning first place gets you 10000 zeni and a chance to compete in their next tournament for skilled fighters." This made you interested to enter the tournament more now. "When is the tournament?" You asked Chi-chi. "About a week from now." Chi-chi answered. "Giving you plenty of time to train." Master Roshi stood up. "Then it's time to kick up your training." Master Roshi said walking outside. "Meet me outside when you're ready." You nodded as master Roshi went outside. "I guess I better go then. See you guys later." You said leaving the four girls alone. "I'm heading out to go train." Chi-chi stated before leaving. "Wait!" Videl shouted to grab Chi-chi's attention. "Yes? What is it Videl?" Chi-chi asked. "Can you train me? I know I'm not Y/n's level but I prove I'm a capable fighter to!" Chi-chi smiled at Videl's spirit. "Of course I'll train you, even if we aren't stronger then Y/n, we can train so we don't lag completely behind." Chi-chi joked. "Thank you." Videl said to Chi-chi as she followed her to the other part of the island.

Meeting Master Roshi out filled you with anticipation. "This is going to be awesome!" You thought to yourself. Your hopes of an awesome were crushed upon seeing a green turtle suit in Master Roshi hands. The had only a hole at the head and had some weights on the arms and legs "What the heck is that!" You complained. "Your new training gear." Master Roshi responded. "Why would I wear that?" Master Roshi looked at you with a serious look. "Its very important for your training." You finally gave in "fine....." You said taking the turtle suit and put it on. "Geez it's so bulky I can barley move!" You groaned. "You don't need to move in this session." Master Roshi instructed. "You will be training to channel ki." Master Roshi instructed. "Like charging or powering up?" You asked. "Yes, exactly like that. Now go stand in the water." You followed Master Roshi orders and walked with some difficulty in the water. "Done. Now what?" You said awaiting further instructions. "Now focus your ki in your body to charge up." Master Roshi instructed. You breath slowly and focus raising your energy. Water starts to splash around your body as you charged up. "Almost there....." You thought. Blue energy starts to cover your whole body, raising your power level. By finishing charging you feel vigorous. "I feel great!" You commented. Bulma rushed out of her spaceship. "Uh guys, what just happened?" She asked. "What do you mean?" You responded. "My scouter found an insane power level reaching above in the thousands and exploded!.... What are you wearing?" Bulma finally noticed your costume. You looked at Bulma as if she was crazy. "It's for training... listen... That explosion may have been me....." You told Bulma. A few seconds of silence pass until Bulma suddenly shouted. "What!? No way!?" Bulma shouted. "You're power level was barley in the hundreds a few days ago. That's an insane jump in power!" Bulma said surprised. "All I did was charge my ki." You explained. Master Roshi had his hand on his chin. "Y/n fire a kid blast.... I want to test something." Master Roshi asked you. "Right." You said sticking your arm out and fired a ki blast. One thing you realised was the ki blast was bigger and took less time to charge. Another thing was the explosion in the water was greater than before. "Woah, talk about a power up." You said to yourself. "You see building up your ki increased your power by charging it to the max." Master Roshi explained. "That's so cool!" Bulma said. "You have to test my new invention!" Bulma begged you. "In doing so will help me improve my scouter as well." Bulma said all knowing. "Sure I guess, but can it wait until tomorrow?" You replied to Bulma. Bulma frowned a little. "Fine I guess...." Bulma said a little disappointed. "If you wait until tomorrow, I'll test all the invention you want." You offered Bulma in order to cheer her up. "Deal! I'm going to hold you to it tomorrow!" Bulma said as she walked away with glee. "I hope you know what you're doing....." Master Roshi said to you. "I hate to see her go, but I love to watch her leave." Master Roshi said in his mind, looking at Bulma's bottom.  "What is he thinking...." You thought to yourself as you saw Master Roshi's pervert face. "Ahem!" You said to get Master Roshi's attention. "Yes? What is it?" Master Roshi replied. "About my training." You asked. "Ah, yes you need to keep charging your ki and keep releasing to increase how much ki you can hold." Master Roshi finished explaining. "Right." You replied as you begin to charge your ki again. "You go ahead and do that, I've got something important to do." Master Roshi told you before rushing off somewhere. "I wonder what that was about...." You said to yourself. After you finish charging you decide to test your guided missile barrage. "Here we go! Charged guided missile barrage!" You said releasing energy from around your body, rather then producing it form one of your hands. You produced fifty small ki missiles. You launch two into the water causing a bigger explosion then your base form. You throw ten in a spread shot ahead of you causing more explosions in the water. A big wave splashes back and dodge it by vanishing. "How about a flying attack." You take off your turtle suit (because you barley know how to fly.) before going into the air. You stand above the water safety away from the house. "Scatter missile barrage!" You yell as you scatter your remaining shots around you causing massive explosions all around you. Charging your ki again, you think about your destruction cut attack. You move your arm to your shoulder. "Destruction cut!" You say while launching a large slash from your arm movements. The cut was larger, longer, and lasted a little bit more then your regular one. "I wonder....." You said cupping your hands. "kaaa....meeee....haaa....meeee...haaa!!!" Instead of firing a big blast at the last second you separate your hands and shoot one kamehameha first in one and then you blasted another kamehameha with your other hand. "This could be a good surprise move....." You noted. "Now I need to practice flying.

Videl had just finished training with Chi-chi. "Man I'm beat, Chi-chi is a tough opponent. Although she did teach me some good fighting tips." Videl looked around the island for you. "I wonder where Y/ n is? I saw him training earlier...." Videl saw no one else outside. "Maybe he went inside without me knowing." Videl thought. "Look out!" You shouted zooming past Videl in midair. "Yikes!" Videl squeaked as she ducked to avoid being hit by your reckless flying. "Y/n! Watch it you almost crushed!" Videl said on the ground. "Sorry I'm still learning to accelerate my speed." You said landing softly next to Videl. "So Videl how was training?" You asked her. "Oh, it's was great..... I mean Chi-chi did kinda beat the living crap out of me." Videl told you. "Wait really!?" You shouted surprised. "No not literally, I meant her training was tough for a beginner." Videl laughed. "Oh good, you had me worried there for a second." You sighed. "Oh that reminds me, have you seen Master Roshi?" You asked Videl. Videl groaned in response. "You do know he's a pervert! I swear I saw him peeping on Chi-chi and I bet he was peeping on me in bathroom!" Videl told you. "Really? Interesting well I have a surprise when Master Roshi goes to sleep tonight....." You chuckled evilly. "What are you planning." Videl wondered out loud. "You'll see tonight." You explained. "Alright, how about we race to the house?" Videl suggested. "Sounds good, on the count of three we start running...... three!" You said skip counting as you took off to the house. "Hey no fair! Cheater!" Videl said running behind.

Entering the house you see dinner is done and set. Videl quickly calls you a cheapskate before lightly punching you and laughing. Dinner was peaceful for most part expect for Bulma's constant reminder. "Don't forget you're my tester tomorrow!" Bulma reminded you for the eighth time. "You sound like a broken record." You commented. "Sorry it's just I'm so excited~" Bulma sung. "Geez you're like kid in a candy store." You thought to yourself. Finishing dinner, everyone headed to bed. Luckily Bulma cleared the second bed for two of you to share. Before heading to bed you grab everyone's attention. "Hey guy, has Master Roshi Been bothering any of you?" You asked the three girls. "Of course, he always try to grope a feel once in awhile." Bulma said annoyed. "He tries to peep on me all the time." Chi-chi said annoyed as well. "I already told you I thought he peeped on me!" Videl said weirded out.  "How about some pay back?" You suggested. You channel your ki to form a small ball. You guild the way through a window to a couch were master Roshi was sleeping. "Aaannnd Boom." Everyone hears a loud pop noise. "Ow!" Master Roshi yelled waking up, upon being hit by a tiny ki ball. "Who did that!?"

Everyone laughed at your little payback prank. Leaving one more dilemma. Who's sleeping with who? Bulma made the lame excuse that you were her tester tomorrow so she had to sleep in the bed with you. You sighed at their arguments as you lied down on one beds "Sleep is good." You yawned realising how tried you were. As you closed your eyes and fell asleep.
