Chapter 16: The day of the Tournament

The day of the Tournament came fast. For the last few days you were practicing ki and using weights in the gravity chamber. You can successfully say you can withstand 10 times the normal gravity with weights. Other than that no real changes occurred. Everyone in the Kame house was excited to go to the tournament. Chi-chi was wearing her blue dress for when she trained you. "Alright everyone, it's time to get on the ship." Bulma ordered. With everyone abroad and seated, Bulma prepared the ship for take off. "I'm excited to see you fight." Videl said to you. "Thanks, I would be lying if I said I'm not nervous." You admitted. "Don't be nervous Y/n, you can win this!" Videl reassured you. "Right." You nodded.
"Master Roshi no groping on my ship!" Bulma warned Master Roshi as he tried to sneak a feel on Chi-chi. Master Roshi was elbowed by Chi-chi. "Pervert...." Chi-chi grumbled. You roll your eyes at Master Roshi and shake your head at him.

Landing near a open space for landing. Bulma opened the doors on the ship. "Whenever you guys are ready we'll leave." Bulma said to everyone. "I'm ready as an old man will be!" Master Roshi said shooting off to Launch's chest. Master Roshi's face meet your boot. "Knock it off!" You said kicking Master Roshi. With nothing else to do everyone went to the sign up line. "You two finish the sign ups and we'll try to find seats available." Videl said to Chi-chi and you. "Right, we'll do our best." You replied. Videl suddenly gave you a hug. "Good luck you two." Videl said winking at you. This made your heart skip a beat. "Adorable..." You thought. Chi-chi turned towards you. "I guess we need to get ready then." Chi-chi said to you. "Yep, let's do our best Chi-chi!" You said happily. "I hope we don't have to fight...." Chi-chi thought to herself. The sign ups were quite simple, but something seemed off. Your feeling was right when you saw a big hulking figure sign up next to you. "Strome!" You exclaimed seeing the android. His arms were back in place and he looked a bit different. Upon hearing his name Strome looked at you. "Ah hello, Y/n was it?" Strome asked. You nodded. "I see we will be opponents again. Just so you know this time won't end up like last time." Strome said simply before leaving. "I hope I get to fight you again." Strome told you before leaving. Chi-chi had an angry look on her face. "So that's one the jerks who hurt you and kidnapped Turtle?" She asked with angry. "Yeah his name is Strome and he's the android." You informed Chi-chi. "Android or not he shouldn't get away from doing something like that!" Chi-chi shouted. "Chi-chi you have to save your angry for the match. Besides If you fight him now, he might kill you. He's power level is equal to mine." You warned Chi-chi. Chi-chi let's out a sigh. "You're right, I just got so angry about you getting hurt by that jerk." This made you smile. "I appreciate the thought." You said to Chi-chi. "But save your energy for the tournament." Chi-chi gave you a smile "Thanks Y/n, you're right I need to save my energy for fighting." Chi-chi finished. "Together I'm sure one of us will win!" Chi-chi said excited. With that both you and Chi-chi were told to walk in the back room with the other fighters, until further notice.

Upon looking around you see a lot of different competition. You're eyes land on Strome. He was sitting quietly by himself with his eyes closed. Chi-chi was standing next to you. Finally you hear the intercom come to life.
"Ladies and Gentlemen!" You hear the announcer say. "It's with my great pleasure to present to you the very first Advancement Tournament! The rules are simple beat your opponent until you're the last one standing! The victor will then rank up and be able to fight in the next level of the Advancement Tournament! With each rank up means higher prizes and rewards. These tournaments are being held around everywhere! I'll give you a heads up now. The more you rank up the harder it is to find your rank of tournament. But the bright side is better prizes!" The announcer repeated. "Without a further a due let's get this tournament started! "Please welcome our competitors!"

You walk outside to the arena with everyone else. Looking around the crowd, you spot your friends. All of them were cheering you and Chi-chi on. You waved back at them.
"Please give our competitors a round of applause! Before we start the first round let's spin the wheel!" The announcer said confusing. "Oh I'm sorry I forgot to mention the wheel! Let me explain." A giant wheel appears beside the announcer. The wheel was big enough for everyone to see it. "After I spin the wheel what ever the arrow lands on will change the tournament for first set of rounds. This change can be good, bad, or just plain wacky. With that out of the way, let's spin the wheel!" The announcer said as the crowd cheered.
With a hefty heave, the announcer spun the wheel. The wheel moved rapidly on different rules and wacky things. You could have sworn you saw one side have Hat mayhem on it. "Come something good..." You whispered. The wheel started to slow down. The wheel slowed down on hat mayhem, but it landed on something else. "Tag team battle, also know as 2v2! You have exactly one minute to find a partner! If can't find a partner in that time limit, we will randomly set you up with one." The announcer explained.
"On your mark! get set! Partner up!" The announcer exclaimed.
Looking around, you search for Chi-chi. "Where is she?" You said to yourself. "Y/n! Over here!" You hear Chi-chi say. Looking at a crowd you see a few men swarming Chi-chi. "Please be my partner!" One begged. "No thanks! I have a husband!" She said pushing them out of the way. Only for more to get in her way. "She said no!" You yell throwing another person to the side. Chi-chi followed your lead and pushed a few guys trying to partner up with her. "Speaking of which here he is now~" Chi-chi lied as she put her arm in your arm. "Wait what?" You said surprised. "I'm just trying to get the guys off me, some of them don't believe I'm married." Chi-chi whispered. You nodded your head and went along with the plan. "Sorry guys but she's taken!" You said with a light blush. "Awww man!" Some the guys said parting. A buzzer went off. "Times up folks!" The announcer spoke up. "It seems everyone has a partner! The competitors will now be displayed on the match up." A screen soon appears with everyone's name and photo. They even have the tag team set up on. You see Chi-chi and you are going the first round against two guys name Sahich and Olive. "I guess we need to prepare." You told Chi-chi. "Right, let's do our best!" Chi-chi replied. "Also.... Thanks Y/n I don't think those guys would have left until you can along." Chi-chi said thankfully. "I'm happy to help Chi-chi, besides there isn't anyone else here I would rather team up with." You said happily. The two of you head into the back to prepare a few minutes before the fight.
