Chapter 11 - Graduation Day

With the month changing to May, the last three weeks of school had finally come. And at the end, would be graduation with all my classmates. I'd get my picture taken and hold a party.....which I had my suspicions that my aunt was already putting something together.

I really wished she wouldn't, but then again it would be nice to see all my friends together in one place for the last time. My parents were too busy and my other relatives didn't have the money to fly here, so it would be whoever was invited that came. For the first time, I found myself wishing that everyone could make it to one of my parties.

My last check up in April had also proven to hold no results. I was still as healthy as ever with no sign that my heath was going to radically decrease. I hadn't told any of my friends, but I was planning on getting some of my closer ones together one day and tell them the truth. Seth would obviously have to be one of them, and I knew he would be absolutely crushed about it.

The days of those last three weeks went by slowly, which I was thankful for while other seniors complained. I didn't mind having to take the finals either. It wasn't like I needed to pass to get into a colledge. I wouldn't even make it that long to enroll into for one week. Some how I passed them without studying though, so I guess it didn't matter what I did.

The last day of school, my group of friends decided to head out together after the final bell and go eat out at a resturant. We wouldn't go to anything expensive. Most likely we'd just go to the Dinner and eat hamburgers or something. I had come to school on my motorcycle, so I would have to follow them there. We still had to make it through the school day first though, before our plans could go into action.

The senior prank this year was a water gun fight in the hallways. I hadn't expected it at all. Most of those involved were guys who brought their squirt guns or gigantic water blasters to school in their book bags. They'd already filled them up, so in the hallway when everyone was going to their lockers they took them out.

Imediatley they started firing at each other and soaking anyone who got in their way as they ran down the halls. It was all good fun, and many of the teachers let them mess around for a good ten minutes before telling them to put the water soakers away and go to class.

At the end of the school day, the teachers let us clean out our lockers before the last period class came. I bet everyone was on the edge of their seats waiting for the bell to ring. As soon as it did, many of the guys jumped up and exited the classroom as quickly as possible. Some ran hooting and hollering down the halls, expressing how glad they were to be out. I left with my friends, splitting from them just to hop on my bike to follow their car.

It wasn't a long drive, so we made it there within ten minutes. The woman at the counter was surprised to see seventeen teenagers walk in her dinner. So was the rest of the dinner, which included two old men sitting at a table. We moved to the far corner away from the old geezers and picked our tables.

I, of coarse, sat with my friends Seth, Jackson, Dan, Anna, and Mickie. Dan and Seth had to pull up two seperate chairs to the end of the table in order to sit with us. Thankfully, Mickie sat beside Jackson so I didn't have too. She had a smirk on her lip though for the rest of the afternoon and a spark in her eyes.

I could've told all of them while we were all together, but I decided this wasn't the right time. I didn't want to ruin their happy moment by spilling out the news of my early death. Instead, I tried to have as fun of a time as I could. I'd get them together some how after graduation to tell them.
