Chapter 2 - My Master

(side note: over to the right is the picture of the mystery messenger's master)

???

I walked into my master's chamber, a bedroom that let in little light. He only had the finest of furnature and decore. A postered king-sized bed covered in red silk blankets and the softest pillows one could imagine. The floor was a deep mahogony and made no noise other than my footsteps walking acrossed it.

The curtains, which were slightly drawn, were also red silk and fluttering slightly in the wind. They were pulled aside an inch, letting in a sliver of light into the room. It fell dirrectly on the floor and on the double doors I entered through. I had flinched at the sudden brightness, but managed not to make myself look like a fool.

My master himself has his back to me. His old-fashioned chair, one with intricate designs in the wood and a red cusion atop it, sat just in the shadows, avoiding the light that was streaming in. He was sitting in it, his hands gripping the arm rests.

I approached as close to him as I dared and then spoke."Master, I have sent out the invitations as you asked." I bowed as I said this."We have even recieved replies."

At this, I pulled the letters concealed within my black tux jacket's inner pocket. My master's right hand let go of the chair and held out, waiting for them to be placed in his hand. I drew near to him and set the envelopes in his open hand.

He took them closer to himself and opened up the first. I stood dirrectly behind him, so that I could see the letter he was currently reading.

Thank you for offering, but I prefer to contact others by face to face meetings. Until I know the full details about you little organization, you can count me out.

Sincerely, Zalenia

P.S. Which is the name you should refer to me by since your a complete stranger to me.

I read this letter in horror. How dare this mere girl disgrace my master in such a way.

He was laughing. I realized that my master was laughing.

"Master, what....?" I began to ask.

"This one." His deep voice echoed off the walls.

"What about her?" I inquired.

"She's not like the others." He continued."Which is why she's perfect. Deus, contact her imediately---in person. I have a feeling she'll be a strong ally in the events to come."

"Yes, Master Severn." I bowed quickly, and went out of the room.

I was still in shock however. I'd never seen my master take such a liking to any single person before.

It made me jelous.

I came back inside the house from checking on the mailbox."The letter's gone." I announced to everyone.

At once, their heads snapped to me. We hadn't thought anything would happen after the letter had sat there three days. Each of us had been keeping a good eye on it, so that we could unmask my mystery writer.

"What's more, is that I didn't even sense them come and go." I thought out loud to them. I'd been staying up the passed three days in order to keep tabs on the letter.

"Perhaps there are those like Bella of your kind, that can hide their mental presence." Carlisle suggested, dropping whatever he had been doing before.
