Chapter 5 - Awakening
???
I remembered passing out on the floor helplessly as I lost too much blood for my body to handle. Then nothing. My mind and body were turned off, just like when people go to sleep. And much like sleep, when I woke up I felt better and energized. My eyes began to flicker open and sense of smell and touch started to return to me.
"Hey...." came a muffled voice.
I blinked a couple more times. Where was I? My fingers grabbed the fabric I was resting on.
"Hey..." the voice said again, this time louder as my hearing returned to me.
My vision remained blurry, but I had control of my body. I managed to get myself into a sitting position on what I thought was a bed. At least, I thought it was a bed. I couldn't tell. While I sat up, my glasses fell off my face and landed in my lap. I tried to catch them as they had fallen down, but paused when I noticed something strange.
I could see without my glasses.
I took the frames in my hand and turned them over, then put the glasses on, and then off again, on, off, on, off.
"Are you finished yet?" remarked an unfamiliar sarcastic voice."I mean, we do have all the time in the world, but really? Are you going to spend all of it playing around with your glasses?"
I turned my head sharply to see a girl sitting in a desk chair she'd pulled from the side of the room. Her legs were crossed and her arms folded over her chest. I couldn't stop looking at her.
"You have white hair..." I muttered, not believing my eyes.
"And?" She replied with an eyebrow raise."Have a problem with it?"
"No! No." I said quickly before she went off on me. She sounded like the type of person who would if I offended her. I rubbed my head, looked around the room, and then settled my eyes back on her."Where am I?"
"In a hotel." the girl answered.
"....How did I get here?" I asked.
She gave me another eyebrow raise, which told me I shouldn't have even bothered.
"Um, okay..." I spoke to myself."Then what happened to me?" I moved onto my next question.
"You want the truth?" She answered mine with another.
I nodded.
"The exact details?" She pressed.
"Yes, I want to know the truth." I said almost a little too loudly to her.
