Do you ever get told that you look sad but you just have a resting binch face and you're completely fine inside? Yeah, that's me.

C/N's POV

My whole world was drowned in black and white.

There was this thing that the just shifted into, scientists still on't know the answer to it. When you're born, everything's doused in black and white and the occasional grey. When you meet your soulmate- the supposed person you'd come to love and spend your whole life with, you'll both get splashed with a world of colour.

As I walked down the buzzing streets, dodging a few people here and there, I make it to the intersection, pushing the button as I wait for the light to turn white to walk.

Aimlessly scrolling through my social media, I glance up, meeting a pair of grey eyes. Her hair was black and her skin seemed a smooth white. I guessed I caught her staring because her white cheeks tinted a grey as she adverted her eyes. I kept staring at her, and in the corner of my eye, the world started changing.

Colours.

Different colours. Different variations of those colours. I've only been described to about the colours from adults that had already found their soulmates, but their descriptions didn't do justice. I gazed at the girl in shock, seeing her expression mirroring mine. A wide grin replaces my features as her grey eyes turned into stunning e/c eyes, along withh/c hair and flawlessly beautiful s/c skin.

The walk light dung, causing her to walk towards me with a bright smile slapped onto her face along with red hues taking up her cheeks.

And that was the last image I saw of her gorgeous face.

Moments before she reached me while she was crossing the road, a drunk driver sped right into her, causing a few of her limbs to go flying across the bustling road. Blood curdled everywhere, shocked gasps erupted everywhere.

My coloured life dulled back into a black and white mess. I gape at her dispersed form, dropping to my knees with my breath hitched in my throat. I gave a guttural scream, talking buzzing in my ears with sirens blaring along.

My whole world shifted back into the lifeless form it was. Warm tears raced down my cheeks as I watched blood spill from her limbs that scattered the road.

You only find a soulmate once, and once is your only chance.

And they can go as quick as a blink of an eye.
